The moment we stepped into Hem Guest House we felt at home, Actually it happened even earlier, when we found someone waiting for us at the train station in spite of our 7 hours delay (train's delay, not ours...). We have been treated as family members from start to end. The two young families who run the place, in particular... More

We had a very pleasant stay and it was easy to get around as the guest house is nearby the centre of tge city ie Clock Tower and you can see the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort from the rooftop. The staff here were very helpful and ensured that our stay had no glitches or difficulties. Both young men were very hard-working,nice... More

We highly recommend this family run guest house. Great service with complementary tea, biscuits and fruit after a day exploring was always welcome as well as a lovely chilled beer. We are sad to leave such a lovely place with excellent view of the Fort made our meals special.

I was a little apprehensive before booking this Guest House as this was going to be my First Home Stay experience but all those apprehensions vanished the moment we checked-in! One of the brothers called me when we were in Udaipur checking our arrival time and welcomed us personally when we reached which was a special gesture indeed. It is... More

This place has some real positives. The location is simply brilliant. It was so easy to get around. The station pickup was brilliant too. We arrived pretty late via train and were greeted as soon as we stepped off the carriage. The family that run the place were really nice. We also thought the place was really comfortable and clean... We had a very disappointing stay at the Hem Guest House in early November. As noted, you can't reach it by car, so we had to shell out extra cash for a tuk-tuk. After getting settled into our room, we went up to the rooftop restaurant and ordered dinner. 30 minutes later, I walked down to the kitchen and asked... More

First, you cannot get to this hotel by a car, so either plan to tote your luggage a bit or take a auto-taxi (tuk-tuk). We took the tuk-tuk option from the airport and it was a blast! Next, these people have your best interests at heart. Tell them what you want to do and listen to what they have to... More
