A wonderful experience! The hotel gives the impression of fusion with the beautiful fortress which overlooks it. The hotel employees are young, very nice and helpful. A great place to hang out during the hot hours and a perfect base to explore the old city, the fortress, etc. The rooftop restaurant is also cozy and affordable. We usually don’t stay... More

Fantastic.heritage property but fully modernized. Restaurant had terrific food. Indian and continental. Flourless chocolate cake was the best i can remember! Great view of the fort which is lit at night. In the old part of the city. Pool is great. Service is fantastic. Highly recommended. Only downside was a temple nearby with regular prayers.

The road that leads to the hotel tells you nothing about the property you about to enter. The hotel is a splendid little gem hidden in the hustle bustle and busy streets of jodhpur city. Its quite small in terms of area but the space utilization is fantastic. The decor is modern yet traditional. The view of the fort from... More

Jodhpur is dominated by the Fort (Palace) on top of the mountain and Raas is a few hundred meters away with a FLAWLESS view of this imposing site. At night, from the rooftop bar, the mountain/Fort is lit to perfection and you are rendered speechless sitting there and trying to take it all in. About the hotel: the rooms are... More

The Taj Palace Umaid Bahaw is the best hotel in Jodhpur, it was full so we decide to stay at the Raas and we have been very seduce but he place. it is right in the center, at the foot of the fort. We even enjoy the proximity of the mosque. The restaurant is excellent. the service is high standing.... More

Boutique hotel with all the essentials for a family traveling with 2 boys (9 & 12) - swimming pool, wi-fi and their own rooms. Rooms are super clean, including the bathroom, which I think has the best design of any hotels I've stayed in. Hotel staff was attentive, specially Madri (spelling? ) who arranged our fort tour and even arranged... More

As other reviewers waxed about this property - I'd have to agree. Raas was one of our top hotels in our trip through Rajasthan. There are other gorgeous hotels but we chose this based on the location and reviews. Everything was great - it felt like an oasis away from the grit, noise and heat, which is exactly what you... You can read my review ... you can see my pictures .... but nothing will prepare you for spending a few days at this unbelievable property. Without doubt it ranks as one of my favorite places to escape too. Located in the heart ( behind the old city walls ) and nestled beneath the AMAZING Mehrangarh Fort, words simply cannot... More

The conversion of a haveli in the center of the old city into a modern boutique hotel was done well. The rooms are in the new building that faces the fort. The interior walls and even the balcony screens are panels of red sandstone. The design of and furnishings in the room were very contemporary. The sight of the uplit... More

Raas is an amazing boutique hotel, which combines modern, state of the art hotel design with local traditional elements. Like other reviewers wrote, it's truely an oasis in the middle of Jodhpur. We had a large, tastefully decorated room with balcony (and an incredible view of Fort Mehrangarh). The food - both room service and breakfast - was very delicious... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Inside the Walled City of Jodhpur and under the imposing stare of Mehrangarh Fort, sits RAAS. The site was formerly the home of the aristocratic Thakur family, and the original 18th-century haveli has been carefully renovated to produce the four old buildings of the hotel. The three new buildings are modern and contemporary in their use of space and light, and yet are grounded in tradition. Jodhpur's red sandstone unites the new with the old, with modern designs in its latticing and carving adding a fresh dimension to the region's age-old stone carving industry. This seamless harmony between the old and the new, the modern and the traditional, extends to all aspects of RAAS. Almost all of the rooms have magnificent views of Mehrangarh Fort from both the private terraces and from the cast iron bathtubs, and those that don’t have their own private gardens and views over the old haveli and landscaped gardens of RAAS. The rooms are furnished with state of the art amenities: all rooms are air-conditioned with the latest eco friendly machines, and have overhead fans, hairdryers, safes, central heating, wi-fi, TV, telephones and en suite bathrooms. There are rooms with easy access for the handicapped and non-smoking rooms. RAAS boasts two fine dining restaurants, which offer both Indian and International cuisine: Darikhana is a beautiful terraced restaurant and the Baradari Café is inside the old pavilion and offers a relaxing location near the pool. There is also a luxury spa that offers a full range of treatments and a boutique shop. RAAS is the ideal place to soak up the rich local heritage of Jodhpur while at the same time indulging in opulent luxury and comfort. As soon as you drive through the old wooden gates in RAAS’s very own blue tuk-tuk, the majesty of Mehrangarh Fort will be tempered by your sense of relaxation. ... more   less
