We really enjoyed our stay at this home stay. A very friendly family giving us a unique insight into their culture and Daily life. We also lived the bishnoi village safari. We highly recommend it. The accommodation is pretty basic but the people make up for it tenfold. Thanks for the hospitality.

My friend and I (both 26yr old females) just spent one night at this lovely homestay but really wish we could have stayed longer. Chhotaram and his family are so warm and welcoming and really make you feel at home, whether you are helping the beautiful wives with the cooking, playing with the children or dressing up in the saris.... I had the 3 d/ 2n package offered on their website ( well, I left at about 11am so 2.5 days!). Short version: Don't hesitate, stay here! Magical. The whole family is so welcoming and warm. The food is so good that my first meal away (at a nice restaurant in Udaipur) from the homestay I teared up a little... More

Chhotaram and his family gave my 11 year old son and me something very special during the few days we stayed with them. They invited us into their home and looked after us like we were one of the family. After a lovely welcome, I had the smallest of the babies in my lap, and my son was loving playing... More

Staying with this beautiful family was one of our highlight in our 5 week stay in India. We were made feel apart of the family and got to experience what life is like in a traditional villiage and with a traditional family. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and the food is all home cooked... More

I cannot review this homestay highly enough. Such a kind and generous family. An incredible opportunity to experience real village life staying with a local family in a mud hut but with the comforts of AC, a decent bathroom and wifi. You really can join in family life helping to cook chapattis, spending time with the animals, being shown how... More

We spent only one night here and regret that we had not booked more. From the first moment it was very welcoming with Malsala chai and a traditional welcome. We never went thirsty or hungry during our stay. The rooms are clean and comfy with a handy ensuite and both a fan and cooler system which is very good in... More

I never would have thought that it was possible to do homestay in India, but this friendly and hospitable family made our 2 days in Jodhpur filled with so much eye-opening experiences. We were slightly concerned that the accommodation is 20km away from the main city when we booked it. However, we were quickly reassured when we were picked up... More

Our stay at Chhotaram been revealed a life time experience! Thanks to Chhotaram and is wonderful family to have welcome us so generously. We arrived from Jaipur very sick and they took care of us like we were part of the family. They understand our needs and we get well recovered. Thank you again. This is a real homestay experience.... This review is a little late. I stayed here with my cousin and her three year old son in August of 2012. It was absolutely amazing. This family welcomes you into their home, and really makes you feel like you're an honorary family member. We were picked up from the train station by the owner's son who was beaming, and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
