We spent one night with Chhotaram Prajapat and his huge extended family at their rural home stay outside Jodhpur, and I’m glad we did. It was a welcome change from the rest of our India travels (and we've been here five weeks). From the moment Chhotaram’s mother greets you—placing a red dot on your forehead with grains of rice for... More

My wife and I had a great time at Chhotaram's Homestay. We got to meet the entire family, exchanged some good laughs, and had pleasant conversations with other fellow travelers. We toured the village and got to see another side of India. They serve good simple fresh food and a seemingly unlimited amount of tea. We suggest you bring earplugs... More

We are a family traveling with our two sons aged 11 and 13. We stayed two nights with Chhotu and his extended family. They were generous and warm. The food was delicious. The accommodations were comfortable. The experience was great. We got an authentic experience of Indian village life.

My wife and I spent 3 days/2 nights at the Chottoram's Homestay. It was a unique experience staying with Chottoram and his extended family, including his wife, parents, brother and sister in law and 7 children. We were greeted with open arms right from the outset being given a traditional welcome of a cotton wrist tie and dab of vermillion... More

We stayed 2 nights at Chhotaram's homestay which was the highlight of the 11 days we spent in Rajasthan. We were warmly welcomed by the whole family and shared their daily life and delicious food. Besides the other guests we did not meet any tourists in the village. After the busy streets of Jodhpur it was very refreshing to spend... More

A true village experience which in store in the heart of every one( Laura,Pooja and myself-Atish from Mauritius). A kind hearted family and the traditional welcome. We felt part of the family from day 1. Our needs were fulfilled to make our homestay a memorable one. Playing with the kids and enjoy seeing the wedding photos - things not to... More

We stayed here for 1 night, we were planning to do 2 but then didn't want to spend another nights money. It is very expensive for what it is. My boyfriend and I are more than used to staying in huts and in local places, that's what we love doing so were very excited to find this place. Upon arriving... More

The most interesting part of our home stay in the small village of Salawas which is around 18km from Jodhpur was Chotaram Prajapat's family. Unfortunately not able to capture sutset due to overcast weather but the village safari and Chotaram's brother was awesome. I would recomend it to anyone who ever visits Jodhpur.

What can we say but it was truly one of our most memorable adventures in this amazing country. Chhotaram and his wife Mamata along with their entire family welcomed us into their home. After settling us into our private hut (with western bathroom) we met back in the family compound where our host graciously served us home-made curds (yogurt) and... More
