Our hosts were gracious and welcoming. Food and accommodations were nice. We enjoyed the jeep ride throughout the countryside and the chance to talk with a few locals. I purchased 3 durries, woven rugs, and had them shipped home for me. I love the rugs and they arrived about 2 1/2 weeks after I purchased them.

My sister and I returned for a second visit to this unique village homestay for 4 days in Feb 2014. It was our first stop after a 24 hour journey and a perfect place to recover from our travels, adjust to the time difference and relax with a warm and welcoming family that is like your own. They cannot do... More

OK, so now I have an Indian family, and if you go to stay with Chhoto so will you! This place is hard to describe. I can tell you that the family sleep in beautiful little mud huts and so will you, I can tell you that they eat out of doors, dining on delicious food cooked on an open... More

The reason for thanking both the owner of the home-stay and this site is, unless Tripadvisor had not highlighted this place, we would never have discovered this great place. Thanks to Chhotaram and his family for being a great host...the best I have ever see... This place is in the village of Salawas and in the outskirts of Jodhpur...better to... More

My sister and I stayed at Chhotaram's village homestay in 2013, and returned in Feb. 2014 for another 4 days with this lovely, welcoming family in rural Salawas village outside of Jodhpur. They have built charming guest huts with traditional mud walls and floors decorated with white designs. Each hut has its own attached bathroom and shower (both of which... More

Does the idea of filling a large bucket with hot water, scooping small cups out of it and pouring it over your head sound like a good shower to you? Well, it better - because if you want to get clean at Chhoto's place, that's just what you're going to have to do. But who cares? This place is great,... More

This was our first experience of homestay and I must say we now have a family added to our list of relatives because whenever I will go to Jodhpur I will make it a point to visit Chhotaram's homestay. These two brothers (owners) are doing a remarkable job. Unfortunately I did not plan for this earlier and hence I did... More

We recently stayed at Chottatram's family homestay for 5 nights, and found it to be one one of the highlights of our trip. As regular visitors to India, we always attempt to experience some "real life" aspects of accommodation, away from the hotels and conventional guest houses. This place was great. Mixing and living with the family was very rewarding,... More

We with family reached there on 14 Feb and we were amazed as Chhotaram himself came to Jodhpur Railway station for pick up. We received a warm welcome there by Chhotaram's Mother. They all are very nice, very friendly and really very hardworking. We are very well mixed up with them giving us a perfect feeling of homestay. The huts... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Anyone visiting India would be cheating himself or herself if they didn't get a taste of Indian countryside. It's not that difficult. Jodhpur is surrounded by natural beauty on all sides and within a few minutes, one can be up in the village, where peace reigns: the only sounds may be those of the birds or an occasional buffalo. From the aspects of proximity to the city as well as the countryside, access and utter, unspoiled beauty, staying at Chhotaram Prajapat's Homestay in Salawas is a good choice. The little village is just 20 Kms. from city center. For those who enjoy cycling, bird-watching or merely relaxing in the peace and quiet, this area is simply perfect. It moves at the typical slow pace of such villages, and you may remark that a lot of people seem to spend a lot of time just sitting around chatting. Well, they do. Nobody here seems to die of stress! Jodhpur is a fascinating city with much to recommend it, but as with all Indian cities, it is not peaceful, so even if you choose to spend the day shopping or sightseeing, its certainly recommended to travel the short distance to Chhotaram's homestay for a perfect evening and a peaceful night. Cmhomestay has a friendly, intimate atmosphere that will calm and relax you. We can provide lunchtime Tipical Rajasthani food, delicious evening meals. Bicycles available. Laundry service. Massage. Camel-riding and countryside trekking arranged. In the room rates traditional welcome with tica, chai/coffee, breakfast is inclusive. We arrange village safari formally known as a BISHNOI VILLAGE SAFARI at competitive rates.Except all this, you can enjoy shopping, trekking, village safari, visit to historical places, bird watching etc. There are many transport facilities which can make your trip enjoyable and comfortable too. To sum up, Chhotaram Prajapat’s homestay will be memory to cherish which you will never be able to forget for the whole of your life.So what are you waiting, start packing your bags and just land at this heavenly paradise. ... more   less
