I was a solo traveller, however stayed at this hotel as part of an Intrepid 'comfort' tour group. The hotel is situated in a perfect location with markets out the front and a short stroll to the right (5-10 mins) taking you to the fort. The hotel itself is immaculately presented with well manicured grounds. Staff bend over backwards for... More

We were in Jaisalmer in Mar'14 - stayed at Mandir Palace for 2 nights. Its actually a palace converted into a hotel/resort. So the heritage charm is definitely there. Gives you a peek into the living of old royalties of yore. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Food is good, however trying out food in local restaurants is strongly recommended.... More

Located close to Jaisalmer Fort, this property is an erstwhile Palace converted to a Hotel. This Hotel truly lets you experience the royalty of Rajput Kings in their own palace. The Staff is ever so courteous and friendly. Rooms are slightly smaller (owing to the old construction design) but very comfortable. Rooms are located in different parts of the palatial... More

Still occupied partly by the maharajah we had one of the ancient rooms overlooking a little courtyard - superb and again thanks to Indian Panorama's organisation. Really accommodating staff, beautiful pool and superb roof terrace . . .

Mandir palace is situated outside the fort of Jaisalmer. The location helps the tranquility that is present in the hotel. The rooms are modest and comfortable, and the bathroom needs an upgrade. But the public areas all insert a feeling of luxury and authenticity. The service is decent , with a friendly manager that will try to help in any... More

Cleanliness 5.0 Service 5.0 Comfort 5.0 Condition 5.0 Neighbourhood 5.0 This former royal palace has lots of atmosphere. My room was absolutely clean and spotless. It was comfortable and quiet. All the staff were extremely helpful. Twice a junior staff member accompanied me through the maze of streets to the ATM. I would never have found it on my own.... More

We visited Jaisalmer in the month of March, 2014 and decided to stay in Mandir Palace. The hotel has a great ambience and the architect of the hotel is incomparable. It is a heritage hotel but has all the modern luxurious amenities one needs. The staff are also very courteous and helpful. The food is also excellent and they have... More

It's not often that you find livestock - not just cows, but horses too - in the courtyard of a quality hotel, but that was one of the many quirks of the Mandir Palace. It's a rabbit warren of a hotel, but full of character. Our room was good, but not the best we've stayed in - there was no... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A two centuries old palace converted into a hotel, WelcomHeritage Mandir Palace offers a concoction of medieval charm with the modern amenities. The main portion of the two centuries old Palace was built during the reign of the late Maharawal Jawahir Singh. This palace is testimony to the history of Jaisalmer with different portions of the palace being built by different rulers of Jaisalmer till as late as the beginning of the twentieth century. ‘Badal Vilas’, a unique tower like structure at Mandir Palace is the tallest structure in town below the hill-top city fort, reminding us of the incredible historical relevance attached to both the palace as well as the city of Jaisalmer. ... more   less
