This was an excellent budget option, with a warm welcome and hosts who will go out of their way to give you an enjoyable stay. The boys working in the kitchen are great fun to be with, and the manager will organise non-touristic camel safaris to the dunes with reliable guides and a meal and overnight stay included.

Great destination for the back packing crowd. Warmth of Dinu and his friends was refreshing and had a sense of making a new friend. Like most places in Rajasthan, you find big steep steps; which you'll get used to. It's a home converted into a home stay style accommodation. The rooms are spacious and give a sense of being well... We had a good experience stayed with Peacock Hotel during our two nights in Jaisalmer. The location is good, with less than 10min to walk to the fort. The rooms were clean, spacious and well up to the mark for the R300 price we paid per night. There is a cosy roof terrace where most of the (young backpacker) guests... More

Really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Peacock. It is outside the fort, just off Ghandi Chowk, and close to the main shopping street. Attractive rooms, mine had AC, which I needed as it was up on 40 degrees, but my friend managed without: great prices, good service, food and laundry. Towels provided. Roof top restaurant with wifi. Staff laid back,... More

Much better than the Renuka next door. The rooms had nice touches - ours even had a little sofa. Really friendly staff who weren't pushy in the slightest. Great hangout area upstairs with a good view of the fort. Good location too. Food and service at the Blues cafe was brilliant. They also organise camel tours which look good (but... More

This place was only two-fifty rupees a night for my own room and bathroom (cold water). It was clean, and an amazing price. Small note is that one needs to provide their own towel, and the water from the sink went all over the floor - but who cares for the price! This place also runs "Anna's Desert Safaris" -... More

This is a nice place for backpackers, and the roof-restaurant at the top was a nice social place to eat and relax if you want to meet other travellers. I would have appreciated if they paid a bit more attention to wiping the tables. There were a lot of flies around as I ate, which was irritating. They could also have... More

We arrived unannounced at 6am in the morning after taking an overnight bus from Jodhpur. We were surprised to be greeted by staff (Nema) and were graciously welcomed into the hotel. The prices for the rooms and food are of good value and the hotel is well placed in terms of proximity of the market and the Jaisalmere fort. The... More

This hotel is in a very convenient location. The rooms give good value for money and the communal covered rooftop area is very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and helpful until we declined their camel safari and booked one somewhere else that was significantly cheaper. The staff then became quite hostile and unfriendly and we felt uncomfortable there after... More

room was clean and big but the bathroom could be much better. It is nice place for backpackers with good location (close to the fort and bus stop, and if you are in the time of camel festival it is also 7 minutes walk to the stadium) and nice staff. value for money.
