Absolutely stay here is you want a peaceful place to stay. I concur with the other good reviews about the friendly, helpful staff, good food, cleanliness, and especially value for the money. I had a large, excellent room with a good bathroom (faucet on the sink needs to be fixed though!.) You won't be in the midst of the noise... More

Lois has been an invaluable help to me and the people I brought to the desert. Everything was clear and easy to arrange, she, Chanesar and the entire staff at Desert Moon were very warm and friendly. The desert safari was also wonderful. We've done this twice and will do it again!!

A great alternative from those GH in the buzzling fort. Room is clean and stylish. Just right on the edge of Sunset Point, which is an excellent backdrop for you to enjoy sunset from the GH balcony. Staff are friendly and welcoming!

Stayed here for three nights, being made very welcome by Lois and her team. The Guesthouse is very nice and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Desert Moon is in a peaceful location just on the edge of town, downhill from what is known locally as Sunset Point but which is actually Vyas Chhatri, cenotaph of the man (Vyas) who... More

Located in a quiet area away from the city, but still within walking distance (took us about 20 minutes to walk to the fort). Lois was friendly and easy-going. Her staff were nice, but English was a bit limited so asking for information may be difficult. The rooftop restaurant has a nice view, but the food is only okay. The... More

Our trip into the desert for camel riding and camping with KK was great and the owners were very helpful and friendly. Rooftop cafe gives great views of the fort, and the food was good. The room was basic but clean. Short walk or autorickshaw ride into the centre.

We have just spent 7 very pleasant nights at desert moon. All the staff are generous helpful and informative and there is no hard selling of tours and day trips. Our room was beautiful spacious cool and clean. Though the roof top restaurant is quiet (unlike the usual backpacker style) the view is lovely and the food is excellent. at... More

A great place to stay outside of the fort of Jaisalmer. It's quiet and there's a roof top restaurant plus a balcony to enjoy the breezes while having a meal or refreshments. The room was large and comfortable plus has wifi access. The staff are friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to couples as a place to relax.

I found this place through the lonely planet, and as a young solo traveller, was a bit nervous about accommodation in a city that has a bad reputation for its treatment of tourists. The free service offered of pick up from the bus or train station (I came by Volvo bus- highly recommended) was a god send since you are... More
