I visited Jaisalmer along with my friends when the winters were at the peak in Rajasthan. We arrived at the railway station early in the morning and were thronged by many people trying to win new customers for their hotels. We had a look at a couple of them and decided to go with the Hotel Fort View person. The... More

Cheap room but clean and with bathroom. The restaurant is quite cheap and good too! Good central place and the staff is friendly and doesn't hassle you to sell you anything! The roof top has a good view on the fort and city center too.

I should disclaim my review by saying that this Hotel was overall quite good compared to other hovels I stayed in India. The pros - for budget accommodation you get a fantastic view of the Fort from the Roof Top restaurant and the actual 'owner' of the guesthouse was quite friendly and hospitable, even helping us organise our stay in... I want to start off with this review and state I am not a 20 something traveller looking for a namaste, vegetarian, mediation experience in life, been there and figured it out. At 50 plus years of age I was on a trip with my two 20+ year old sons to see Asia. I have been in Asia numerous times... More

Central hotel located a minute from the first fort gate. It is worth paying the 200rupees more for the bigger room with a fort view. Hot showers after waiting 20mins for the boiler. The cook in the restaurant is amazing and the fort views are the best. The highlight was the two night camel safari organised through the hotel. It... More

Hotel fort view is a fantastic budget option for travellers, it has the greatest location, directly across the road from the fort, and is in the heart of cheap eats, shopping, restaurants and internet zones. The rooms are very basic, but for the price, location, and awesome rooftop views , it really cant be beaten, rooms starts at 200 rps... More

The staff here are friendly and don't try to rip you off. We rang to say we'd be arriving at about 5am and the manager told us not to worry, a man would be waiting in reception to meet us. The restaurant manager Ali was there and took us to our room - they offered us a cheaper room so... More

The rooms are decent and simple but a great value. The food is okay although the Rajasthani thali is outstanding. But what made my time there memerable was chilling with Ali, such a gracious big hearted man with a million dollar smile. I look forward to heading back there someday to that enchanted desert, stare out at the stars from... More

As other reviews have noted this hotel isn't the Ritz, but then you are not paying for the Ritz, so have some perspective. The restaurant has the standard 'tourist' menu served at an above average quality, but as others have mentioned, it is worth visiting just to hang out with 'yeah man' Ali. He possibly has the most infectious and... More

The rooms are clean and mattresses are comfortable. I wish they had mosquito nets in the rooms though. The best part, though, is the roof top restaraunt with the amazing view of the fort. The brothers, Kamal and Ali, cook up amazing food and are always up for a chat throughout the day. Be careful, you could easily spend the... More
