Far cry from pictures put by management! There are 2 hotels in same compound Laxmi Niwas & Lallgarh Palace which is at best described as poorer cousin of the two. The rooms are different from each other in many ways...with different types of mattresses and bed linen, not exactly a pleasant situation.... The rooms can be stuffy and overall the... More

Stayed here on a tour. I found it a very comfortable place. My room was lovely, dinner was very good, the pool was lovely and clean and the grounds were beautiful. What more could you want? I am genuinely surprised by some of the bad reviews. I wished I had been able to stay here longer.

The hotel had many positives but it was the negatives that detracted from our stay. There are no English channels, only one power point in a difficult location, hair dryer didn't work and my husband had to do some running repairs on the wash basin to allow the water to drain away. While we can cope with these small inconveniences,... More

We stayed here for one night while touring Rajahstan and wanted to stay at historic places. This si certainly one of them and we were pleased to be there. We stayed in the smaller complex on the grounds- there is a higher level part of the palace but our area was very appropriate. The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms renovated... More

A long road winds up from the main gate across open ground for what seems like a mile or more to the Reception building. The guest rooms are a separate building at the far end of the palace, next to a swimming pool and a pavilion where we ate our meals. Late October was a perfect time of year to... More

We had a short family trip to Bikaner..a quick search narrowed don the options considerably, to Lallgarh and Laxmi Niwas. Room bookings were done online, and then we spoke to the hotel Lallgarh guys about minor adjustments. First, the positives: 1. Beautiful, imposing structure- A very well maintained Hotel, both externally and internally. Its the way palaces should look and... More

The initial approach to the palace is stunning.we were upgraded to a deluxe room by the manager which was huge in size. Beautiful property with manicured lawns and peacocks and an amazing indoor pool. The Photographs that adorn the walls transport u to the era of the maharajahs. The restaurant quickly arranged a cake on a very short notice as it... More

As background, we spent two weeks in India on a photography expedition with three other couples. We traveled through Rajasthan, staying stayed at nine different hotels. Most were "heritage hotels" (i.e., converted palaces). Summary for the Lall Gargh Hotel in Bikaner. Amazing grounds, rooms, hallways, courtyards, pool, etc. Dinner was very good. Breakfast on the other hand was very average;... More
