Vijay is our best memory from India. First we were thinking just about camel safari, but after short conversation we decided to go with him to Shekhawati region and stay at his "desert home". We saw a lot of amazing havelis and some castles outside and inside, felt the atmosphere of non tourist places. We ate the most delicious indian... More

If you're interested in the Bikaner camel festival as I was this is by far the best place to stay in town. Otherwise it's also the best place for the money I've stayed ever. I took a delux room which was only 600 ruppees per night. very comfortable double bed. plenty of space, and most importantly, a writing desk and... More

My review is rather late but have just returned from my travels.I stayed here in October 2011. My stay at Vijay's was one of the best in India. I only meant to stay there for around three days but ended up staying for seven. Vijay himself is an extraordinary person. He made me feel like a family member and introduced... More

We received a very warm welcome at Vijay guesthouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a nice living-room and garden where you can enjoy the very good home-cooked food. All the family is very helpful to make your stay as pleasant as possible and to organize tours around the area. We chose to go with Vijay to Shekhawati... More

Basic but cheap rooms (shower didn't work particularly well) but nice garden and lounge to relax in. Lots of tables and chairs outside where you can sit, read and chat. Honesty fridge so it was great to be able to help ourselves to beers, juice and soft drinks any time we wanted. A bit disapointed with breakfast but we ate... More

We were welcomed by Vijay and felt at home straight away. Room was large and air-conditioned and the bathroom roomy too and the shower was tempermental but we did not complain about this. Camel safari I enjoyed and met some lovely people, which was one of he things that made the trip memorable. The food as good and plentiful. Also... More

The family welcomed us and did there upmost to make sure we were well looked after. They spent time and effort helping us sort our over priced tickets bought in Delhi. The rooms were fantastic and well presented and very comfortable. Food was very very good!! Excellent family feel and very comforting after a rocky start to our trip.

This is one hell of an Indian experience. It's really the ultimate 1-star and 5-star experience. I'll settle for four, since I still vividly remember every detail one year and a half later. You must stay here, for the good, the bad, and the ugly!...and the wife!! If possible, come for the camel festival in January. I came for the... More

The guest house is nice, with hot water and clean rooms. The safari was dissappointing. I booked a 2 days/2 nights safari to experience a little bit the desert way of living. However, after the first night, we walked out of the desert, we passed a railway and we walked a little part on a "highway" (big road)! When I... More

Vijay Singh (a.k.a. The Camel Man) makes you feel very welcome at his clean and comfortable guest house. The rooms were the best we stayed in during our rent tour of India. Rooms cost 600 Rs, Breakfast was 150 Rs and Dinner at 200 Rs including free Rum !!! was a bargain. Our first night there was Vijay and Desi's... More
