We have just returned from a 5 week stay in the Samudra and have already booked for next year. The setting is ideal - our balcony overlooked the beach and there are numerous cafes and restaurants very close by. Pro's: Location is good. Beach is very nearby or we can say 1 minute walk from hotel. Staff are very supportive. Our room was big with balcony with all facilities. Swimming-pool was good n very well mentioned. Cons: Things inside room are quite old. Towels , bathroom were look like very old.Room service was poor(dining). Internet usage only in lobby.

Despite the fact that it is owned and operated by Karnataka Government, surprisingly we had a great experience there... Good food.. good ambiance.... great location.... nice and helping staff almost everything is excellent !!
