There were so many nice features about staying at Krishna Leela...the main one though is Nayana. She welcomed us as family, showing us her garden and digging up fresh turmeric, made wonderful meals and let us watch her prepare masala dosa (the best we had in all of India!). The home is very quiet and comfortable. As it is a village, it was a nice place to relax yet close to the city. We enjoyed the nearby beach and excursions to temples and local craftspeople. Yogacharia Gopalakrishnan's home and yoga studio are within walking distance. We felt welcomed by the entire village.

Krishna Leela is my home while in Kozhikode I travel to India yearly). I will be returning again in 2016. Lovely home and property. Beautiful Hosts, delicious, traditional South Indian food. I miss Nayana and her family and look forward to going back. This is a homestay, rather than hotel but you have your own rooms and bathroom separate from the family. It is very clean and professional, with a comforting personal touch.

Great choice to stay here. Very hospitable. Definitely recommended. We stayed one night at the Homestay. Everything was great. We had lunch when we arrived and breakfast the next morning before we left. Also it's not too far from the attractions in Calicut.

Mr and Mrs Vijaykumar made us very welcome in their beautiful home. It is spacious and spotlessly clean. Excellent suggestions were made regarding things to see and do which we're off the main tourist area and provided a colourful glimpse of the real Kerala. Traditional dancing festival, the boatyards at baypore, the ethnological museum providing insight into ancient tribes and a training school for ancient Keralan martial art. Breakfasts were substantial and a perfect mix of Keralan and continental. Thank you for making our short stay in Calicut so enjoyable. Ian and Vicki

I had a such a lovely time staying at Krishna-Leela that after spending 3 nights there, I wished I could stay longer. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, bathroom was spacious, modern and had solar water heating system. There was a seperate area just between the bathroom and bedroom with a full length mirror and steel almirah with keys. The two guestrooms are located on the first floor whereas the owners live on the ground floor. The first floor also has some really nice common areas including a kitchen with microwave, fridge, gas-stove, a spacious balcony looking out into the greens, a living and dining room with a TV. There is an independent entry/exit gate available for the guests. What more can one ask for ? The hosts were very helpful and gracious and provided

Before leaving Kerala we stayed at Krishna Leela homestay for 1 1/2 days . The hosts are very caring and they took us to the airport which made leaving Kerala even more sad. The homestay is very comfortable, spacious and very clean with a pretty garden in front of the house. Each of the meals was very tasty and Nayana even cooked extra dishes for my husband´s milk allergie, so nice! We also enjoyed the possibility to make tea and hot water in the upstairs kitchen of the "public" area. Thank you for everything.

My partner and I wanted to experience Indian home life and found just the place. The homestay was situated in a quiet and relaxing area. A twenty minute rickshaw journey into Calicut. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We even had our own little balcony where in the evening we could unwind with a cold beer. The owners were great. They were very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this homestay.

There was no lock for the house provided. ..if ur owner does not trust u how can u trust the owner... little discomfort n continental breakfast would b better rather than proper kerala food as tourist would come fir a homestay n not localites.

Response from Nayanathara123, Owner at Krishna Leela Homestay
Responded Mar 27, 2014
Sorry for the inconvenience. We had given you the keys of the rooms you had booked, the other areas ie living, dining, kitchen, balcony are all common, and that is why they cannot be locked. Regarding Bfast, from the feed back we get from our guests,it is Kerala food which they enjoy best and that is why we served you the same.If you had mentioned your preference earlier we would have had Continental food for you.

My two friends and I stayed here for 2 nights - one when we arrived in Northern Kerala and again the night before we left. We were made very welcome and the accommodation was very comfortable. It was very interesting talking to Nayana and Vijay. They couldn't have been more helpful.
