We enjoyed wonderful hospitality, good and ample food and we saw more birds than in Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary. No one could have been more helpful or knowledgeable on a range of subjects than George and his gracious wife. The rooms were simple, immaculately clean and spacious. The bed was enormous and the mattresses very comfortable. We wished that we had... More

We had 9 days in Kerala and stayed for 4 days at GK homestay at the end- for me it was the highlight of my holiday as I found it so homely with stunning lush and beautiful green surroundings. I met lovely people and I felt that the hosts really made it for me. We were welcomed very warmly by... More

Myself and a friend have just spent five days and four nights at GK Homestay and what a super time we have had. Wondeful Keralan food freshly cooked by his wife Dai and plently of it, good company, in fact a new found family. We were made to feel at home from the minute we arrived and nothing has been... More

George is the owner of GK's Riverview Homestay and he states that it is a bird sanctuary. This is not a bird sanctuary, he has no knowledge about birds. He knows nothing about the birds genius, habitats, what the birds eats, where they migrate, how long they stay in a particular area, when they lay eggs. He does nothing when... More

We absolutely loved our stay at GKs Riverview. Why? Because George and his family made it a time to remember, they are really, really great hosts. The rooms are clean, comfy and basic, we had one with a fan in the guesthouse which we loved, they also have two A/C rooms in their family house. When you are there, you... More

Stayed here for a night. The location is quintessential Kerala - green paddy fields, backwaters, tall coconut palms and spice gardens all around in a most rural setting. The rooms were basic but spacious, clean and well kept.George Kutty, the owner, was welcoming and arranged for us a canoe ride through the backwaters which was a great experience. As was the walk around... As others have noted the rooms here are very basic. The bathroom is essentially a wet room, the shower is not separated, i.e. no curtain or anything, so most of the bathroom gets wet when the shower is used. The bathroom is generally not very nice and also not very clean, but the bedroom is clean, with the floor wiped... More

Don't be put off by the long journey to get there: once you arrive you'll realise that the homestay's isolation is a big part of its charm. If you get a cab to Kottayam, George will arrange a pick up for you - recommende, as the local drivers are a lot more knowledgable of the area. The homestay itself is... More

My wife and I stayed with George for just two nights but had an excellent experience. George is an outstanding host, and genuinely treats you as family when you stay with him. His home is bordered on one side by a gorgeous canal, on the other by expansive green rice fields, and along the sides by trees and a vegetable... More
