George and his family gave us great hospitality when we stayed there on our recent trip to Kerala. The location is not easy to find but George will sort out transportation and/or directions. It is deep in the backwaters and George provided activities (canoeing, ferry travel and advice) as well as recommending other accommodation. Rooms are basic but have everything required... More

We had a fantastic stay at the homestay. It was my wife's second visit and the homestay was as great as she described. We spent several days relaxing in hammocks and watching the squirrels and the birds over the peaceful rice paddy. The rooms are basic but very clean. The beds were comfortable. Although we appreciated the mosquito nets as... More

Thank you George and family for a lovely stay. Our two nights at this homestay were utter relaxation, complete with a lovely walk around the local villages and a brilliant canoe trip around the local backwaters - the best way to experience the real backwaters! All our meals were delicious, homecooked local meals. Would thoroughly recommend this place for anyone... More

We will long remember our stay with George and Dai because it was a special interaction with a wonderfully hospitable couple, rightly proud of their way of life and full of patience in tending to the whims of their guests and answering questions. This is absolutely the place to stay if you are looking for an authentic experience of the... More

Four of us travelled to George's for just one night. It was such a lovely home away from home an a lovely place to just out your feet up and relax. George was lovely before the trip and was constantly in contact and made sure we were on the right route to his home. We got collected by a tuk-tuk... More

My daughter and I spent 12 days with George. In a short time it felt like we were visiting friends. We were fortunate to meet his daughter and his granddaughter. George is true to his word and keeping his word is very important to him. George's beautiful wife, Dai was ill but George still worried about not giving his utmost... More

I had stayed with George and his lovely wife Di before and had a lovely restful few days, so I thought it was a good way to end our trip. George was as charming as ever and welcomed us with a ‘welcome home’ and settled us in. The apartments are at the back of George’s garden overlooking his rice field.... More

I cannot recommend GK's more highly, and would suggest that you go out of your way and change your plans so that you can stay here. It's off the beaten track and in the most beautiful area of India I have seen. There are no other hotels around so it is not touristy so you feel like you are seeing... More

We spent three wonderful days at Georgekutty in july, with our nineyear-old son. Although it was during the monsoon and thus off-season, it was the owner not bother too much to our liking to please us. There was extensive cooked, and a boat trip arranged. The rooms are fine and most importantly very clean. In combination with the friendliness of... More

Only managed to stay for a night at George's Homestay, but he and his wife are consumate hosts and I had a thoroughly lovely stay there. Early monsoon period and very rainy, but George kindly cooked dinner for me, and breakfast was delicious. He arranged for a local boat man to take me around the canals/rivers of Kottayam, which was... More
