We have just returned from a private tour of Kerala, and this was one of the six places we chose to stay. It was for just one night, we could have stayed for longer. We were made very welcome by the owner and her family, with excellent home cooked local food, in a very natural and peaceful all round ambience,... More

This place is an absolute must if you are into food. Rick Stein stopped here on his way round India and no wonder. Anu and her mother-in-law share the cooking and they are remarkably under-stated about it. Frankly, it is simply outstanding, certainly the best Indian food I have had and in amongst the best dining experiences, anywhere, anytime. Dish... More

Stayed on the farm for two nights as a break during a business trip to Bangalore. Everyone on the farm was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The rooms are a little basic, but has everything that is necessary. The whole experience is fantastic and lets you see another of India's many different sides. We were shown around the farm and... My boyfriend and I spent 4-weeks traveling through the Maldives and India. First stop was a luxury resort island in the Maldives; our second stop was Philipkutty's. While Philipkutty's Farm is not an international luxury destination, it is beyond a doubt our favorite of all the locations we visited during our trip. Paid luxury just can't compete with genuine hospitality,... More

Leaving philipkuttys farm confirmed just what a special experience my family and I just had. The sun was rising, we could hear the call to prayer and we were being punted across the river in otherwise silence. This was just one of the special moments at the farm. Others included: - the family led by Anu were devoted to making... More

Here I am again - single, female traveller - this time looking forward to 3 nights at Philip Kutty's Farm in the backwaters of Kerala. Having read the website I was looking forward to the working organic farm, the crops of nutmeg, cardamom and vanilla, the cookery classes and the general life on the farm. That was not what I... This was the last Homestead we stayed in, and what a place. The Hosts could not do enough for us, even saying farewell and checking the taxi arrived at 1pm! To describe the food would not give it justice, we dined like Lords! If you visit Kerala you must stay here. We had a night on a Houseboat and they... More

If you ever want to drop out and spend some time in quite contemplation in the backwaters then this is the place to do it. My only regret is that we only had one night. Years ago I stayed in the resort recently frequented by Prince Charles that is relatively close to the Farm, but is by comparison a charmless... More

We decided to splash out and stay at philipkutty's farm and we are so glad we did. The food was spectacular, the best we tasted on our trip. The sunset cruise that was included was lovely and the setting was amazing. I would return to Kerala just to stay at Anu's homestay. You eat meals communally and we met some lovely... More

Personal care, attention to detail at every level, and absolutely the best ever Indian food - the fusion of tastes and variety of dishes were outstanding. An amazing place to stay and rest a while from the hustle and bustle of mainland India. Anu, her lovely family and caring staff make sure your stay at Philipkutty's Farm is not just... More
