We stayed two nights at Kalketty Homestay set in the midst of an extensive rubber plantation with Kurian and Anuja, who were such very charming, informative and hospitable hosts. We had a wonderful bedroom which was superb, large and most comfortable in a separate building to the main house in which we ate our quite delicious home cooked Keralan food,... More

Nothing can quite describe how totally perfect was our 3 night stay with Kuriam and Anuja. Our food was delicious, I think Anuja was on a quest to get us to experience every Keralan dish she had ever had. The plantation tour and the latex weighing area was most interesting. We had booked a days cycle tour, very worthwhile, and... More

Our stay at Kalaketty turned out to be the highlight of our holiday in India. The accommodation is fabulous and our hosts, Paul Vincent Kurian and his wife Anuja, are most gracious and welcoming. The food is wonderful and we really could not have been better looked after. We had three nights there and we both agreed we could have... More

This time we stayed for three nights and Kurian and Anuja are the most delightful hosts. As in previous reviews the food is superb. We again walked with Kurian around part of his estate, saw the local bee keeper and tasted his wonderful honey, took a tuk tuk ride around the local village and visited the nearby Benedictine school. If... More

We recently experienced a two night stay in this beautiful home. Our hosts made us feel so welcome; their kindness, thoughtfulness and hospitality were evident throughout our stay. Whilst there we learnt about Kerala's architecture, plantations and tasted its delicious food. Anuja is an outstanding cook and her meals are presented beautifully; each dish was a subtle delight. We were... More

I am glad that I am not staying more than two days as I would come away far bigger than I am now. Anuja and Kurian are great hosts and the food is superb with lots of Keralan dishes to try. Breakfast this morning was lovely with string hoppers, local honey, steamed bananas, and tapioca with a light chili sambal,... More

Shortly after arriving at Kalaketty we were taken for a tour of the property and our gracious host Mr Kurian who explained the workings of a rubber plantation. Then the heavens opened but that did not deter us as the atmosphere is amazing. We had the best experience staying in one of the two beautifully appointed rooms (almost apartment The... More

For two days we were welcomed in to the hosts family. In this beautiful part of Kerala we went for morning walks with them, toured their rubber plantation, and visited the countryside. They made us feel like part of the family. For foodies such as us we were amazed by the home cooked Kerala cuisine that was truly delicious. This... More

We arrived to a warm welcome from Anuja and shown around their beautiful home. The room we had was amazing, huge with a wonderful wooden ceiling with a study off, facing the vegetable garden. The food was out of this world, we were there for two days and felt we had been given a tour of Keralan food - exceptional!... More

Having stayed in a number of very good hotels, guesthouses and clubs in a three week odyssey around Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Kalaketty Estate stood out as the best of the best. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat with welcoming and very generous hosts; clean, spacious and well appointed accommodation which reeks of history; superb meals (quite the... More
