I stayed at Sithara Homestay in Dec 2013 for 4 days. I received a warm and friendly welcome from Harry and his son. The room I stayed in was clean, comfortable and tidy. The location of the homestay in Fort Cochin was in close proximity to pretty much to most if not all attractions and it is within walking distance.... More

We felt very welcome in this beautiful old villa with its nice garden full of exotic birds, ideally situated inmidst of Cochin Fort. Harry and his wife, Mercie, are very friendly, full of humor and helpful. They both speak English very well. The rooms on the first floor are nice, clean and spacious. Reasonable price. A rich breakfast is served... More

This is a very nice home stay with a very attentive family for hosts. The setting is great and rooms pleasant. The home cooking is fantastic - the seafood was better than I have had in restaurants. The service provided is very attentive and you feel like a member of the family.

After exchanging few emails with Mr. Harry, i decided to stay at the Sithara Homestay for 2days. I had booked a Single Non AC room, but was bumped up to a double room. Harry and family were extremely welcoming and in fact i went on to extending my stay to a total of 4days. The rooms are very clean, sheets... More

Harry and family were ideal to stay with. Backwater trips and taxis were arranged as well as accommodation for my travels further north which took all the hassle out of organising these myself. The family were great company, the room was ideal for the price and the food was excellent. The curried eggs were a favourite. One of the best... More

We stayed twice with Harry and Mercy John in their most welcoming and lovable home. We had two comfortable rooms, bath room and balcony. Harry is a very keen host and we had lots of laughs together. Mercy is a wonderful cook and we had the best ever banana pancakes for breakfast with coconut, raisins and cashew nuts in them. On... More

I loved this Homestay set in a lovely garden with banana, tamarind and coconut trees, hens and parrots and a fan in the courtyard, off a quiet lane in Fort Cochin. Harry and Mercy were wonderful hosts, making us and everyone else who visited incredibly welcome so that we and other guests kept returning to visit and chat even when... More

we stayed there just for one day...22nd Dec 2013....Nice and clean homestay with very nice food. Rooms were very clean. Mr Harry helped us in providing information about local sightseeing and also arranged one tempo-traveller for our 7 days long visit to Kerala. We feel as if we staying in a home and kids enjoyed most. Reasonable prices for the... More

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip around Kerela. Harry is a wonderful, welcoming host and he is more than happy to help with any bookings, transport, laundry, etc. He stressed that his home was 'our home' while we stayed with him. Great location for shopping, restaurants and sight seeing. Room was simple but clean and... More

We stayed in Harry`s nice house in the beginning of September. These were our last days of our trip through South India. After a perfect, but also strenuous journey this was the best place to relax and to explore the sights of Fort Cochin. Harry`s house is the perfect location to stay in Fort Cochin for a few days. Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Sithara Homestay welcomes you to Kerala, the nature lover’s wonderland, for an amazing experience. Kerala, a sliver of land located at the southernmost tip of India is 560 km long with lofty mountain ranges gracing one side and washed by the blue Arabian Sea on the other. Popularly known as ‘God's own country’, Kerala is viewed and listed by the National Geographic Traveler as one of the 50 places of a lifetime to be visited. Enjoy and explore Kerala in the ambiance of a traditional kerala house with us at Sithara Homestay. Situated on one of the streets of Fort Cochin, Sithara Homestay caters to the taste and needs of the discerning tourists. Present on a street studded with numerous ancient buildings conjuring up an aura of yore. An ideal place to start your discovery of the place and to plan and explore the beauty of Kerala. Fort Cochin is one of the sections of Cochin (The industrial Capital of Kerala), tucked between the Arabian Sea & the backwaters. Situated on a peninsula in the west linked by a complex system of ferries and unimaginatively made bridges, Fort Cochin shares the western location with Mattancherry as its other geographical ally of the old districts, while the eastern part is occupied by modern Ernakulam. ... more   less
