I really liked this place. I am useless with names but the young guy who checked us in, and the one who always looked after the place in the evenings, are both so helpful and friendly they made it a really nice place to stay in. Rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, though i would say that the hot water... more

We stayed at the Raintree for 4 nights at the end of January 2009. Unfortunately our stay didn't get off to a great start. We booked our trip by email several months before, reconfirmed as requested and got in touch with the owner whilst we were in Alleppey to arrange a pick up. Everything was fine until enroute to Cochin... more

We ended up at the Raintree because the only room left at the Old Harbour Hotel was the honeymoon suite at a price we were not willing to pay even though we were on our 25th anniversary honeymoon. In stead we had a romantic garden dinner at the Old harbour. We had a wonderful time staying at the Raintree, it's... more

Although we tried to get into the Old Harbor hotel, they were full and Edgar offered us rooms at the Raintree instead. (Incidentally, we had breakfast one day at the Old Harbor, and given the very inattentive staff, high price of the food, small portions, mediocre quality, and Euro-chique atmosphere that felt very insulated from Indian culture, we were glad... more

having read the valued feedback , please fdind herewith our response and clarification on some of the issues of the issues stated. 1) The full advance payment was informed prior to booking and it is requested because out of the 7 rooms we have , you were booking 4 rooms and during peak season without advance we do not confirm...

Great place, with big rooms & bathrooms, comfy beds, a/c. Staff were very friendly & helpful, offering advice, organising cars. No bar or lounge except a pretty roof terrace. Very handy for local bars (if no beer in evidence, try asking - & be served beer in tea-pot & mugs!), restaurants & sea front but just off the main thoroughfares... more

spacious, clean rooms, friendly staff, well priced, good location in quiet street We were two couples, one child each, on a round trip through southern India, staying a couple of nights in Fort Cochin. This was an ideal base to get round either on foot or with a motor rickshaw. Should you hire a rickshaw, tell them not to do... more

We booked raintree lodge last year on the strength of other reviews on tripadvisor - we were definitely not disappointed. The lodge was full on our arrival, so we stayed in a two bedroom cottage, owned by the lodge on the same road, it was perfect to ease us into Keralan life. One of the main reasons we booked was... more

This is a very lovely little lodge, in a great location. The Raintree was a real haven for me, and I ended up staying for 8 days, making Cochin my base for exploring. Nicely decorated rooms with very comfortable beds and attractive furnishings – and air con, which was much needed during monsoon as it was very humid in Kerala... more

we turned up at the hotel late at night without a reservation (during off peak season) and luckily they had a room as I was feeling very ill! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They arranged a backwaters trip for us. This trip was with a small group of other tourists on a boat without an engine. Meant we... more

We stayed here for one night in March and really loved it. We had planned our time in Kerala so didn't really did their help with any bookings etc, but for the small amount of help we needed the staff were really helpful and friendly. They booked us a taxi with Anthony who was definitely the safest driver we have... more
