This is a lovely hotel. It is designed in the old colonial style with lots of wooden floors and furniture and is maintained beautifully. My room was furnished with both air conditioning and ceiling fan and the four poster bed had a mosquito net covering it. It was very roomy and clean and also had hairdryer in shower room, which... Ideally situated in Fort Cochin for exploring shops, restaurants and sights. The Old Courtyard has plenty of charm and character with wooden paneled rooms and colonial architecture. it is also close to the Chinese fishing nets and a short walk to cultural activities. The staff where very friendly and the rooms clean and well maintained and included a full mosquito... More

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of our holiday to Southern India in February and enjoyed it so much that we booked to spend our last two nights there too at the beginning of this month. It is ideally located to explore Fort Kochi and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and there... More

Great introduction to Cochin. The hotel is located in an old house, with wood paneling and high ceilings. It has a very friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and excellent wi fi in central area (not in the rooms). The room was very quiet. The hotel is centrally located. There is no fitness center but the staff recommended one that... More

A stay in the Old Courtyard Hotel was a great start to our kerala trip. About an hours taxi drive from Cochin Airport brings you into the heart of Fort Cochin where the hotel is located. The rooms are furnished simply with antique pieces and have all the mod cons including wifi. A central courtyard holds a number of tables... More

I had read great reviews, but my experience was not positive at all. I'll start with the good things, though: great breakfast, good location in the middle of everything, and friendly staff. Cons: Our mattress smelled really badly of something. Smelled like urine, but I'm telling myself it was maybe because of muggy/damp climate. Although I've stayed in many humid... More

Thank you for your feedback. The Housekeeping Department has been alerted of your complain. As the whole hotel has been occupied continuously since December, we have been unable to air the mattresses. Although the mattress protector is changed constantly, it is inevitable that some smell will develop with the combination of air conditioning and humidity. We do however feel that... More

We stayed here by default as our preferred hotels were booked -- but we are glad that we did. This was an old Portuguese house and with authenticity and history comes some inconvenience. My friends were in the large 3rd floor walkup with high ceilings. I am not sure how many rooms are on the ground floor but this place... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for the feedback. We checked the curtains in the rooms you have mentioned and unfortunately due to the pillars in the room, even more curtains will not be possible. Instead we have decided to color tint the upper windows to minimize the light in the room in the night time and the glare in the mornings.... More

This was our third trip to the Old Courtyard and it's as charming as ever. Lovely old world charm, one of the most characterful places we've ever stayed in. The restaurant is amazing, don't be put off by the lack of alcohol (all the BEST places iN Cochin don't serve it). The lunch thali is incredible value and delicious. Breakfasts... More

The hotel is located in the heart of historic Fort Kochi and retains the old world charm! Hats off to Rose and her team for a fantastic effort to restore a dilapidated building and give it a new lease of life! Just the kind of property we would love - antique furnture restored, huge 4 poster bed, wooden flooring and... More

Everything about this hotel was incredible - the staff, the location, the prices, the restaurant, the room itself. We stayed for five days and I wish it could have been longer! If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Fort Kochi, stay here for the service alone. Vineeth went out of his way to make our stay remarkable, and... More
