Our 3rd or 4th visit to Kochi and if you're staying there it's difficult to imagine somewhere better. The rooms are great (ours looked out over the water), service is even better than usual for India, great breakfast and the restaurant is great for dinner too. The location is in old Kochi Fort so very near the old Synagogue, the... More

We stayed here in March as part of our honeymoon. The hotel is fabulous, full of old world colonial charm and the staff are helpful and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Our room looked out over the busy waterway and had a balcony to sit out on and watch the world drift by. The bathroom was large and had... More

The hotel and Cochin are both lovely and I definitely recommend but we left several stamped items of mail with the hotel reception to post and not one arrived back in the UK. Bad luck you might say, but a previous reviewer who'd stayed a couple of weeks before us wrote that they'd left about 20 items with the hotel... More

Three of us stayed at Brunton's from 10-13th January 2014, on the recommendation of very old friends. The hotel was lovely; charming rooms, lovely setting, excellent room service, good food, good internet connection and we left with a very warm glow saying to each other that it would be our first stop next time we were in India. We had left... More

The staff is discreet (a plus in India, where people are trying to chat) and helpful. They found me an English speaker and smart tuktuk driver for a sightseeing afternoon - avoid the insistent drivers outside and ask for Saneesh at the reception. The food is likely the best in all Fort Kochi, be sure not to miss the mutton... More

True old world charm. Beautiful location by the water, see the boats go by. Airy open corridors with interesting historic photographs and statues leading to an inviting pool. It even has hand pulled 'pankha' fans reminiscent of a bygone era. And the patio on which we were served a most memorable meal at sunset.

Brunton Boatyard was a must on our itinerary - after we'd seen Michael Palin there on TV! The buildings are old colonial, formerly a boat-building business run by a British man and his sons. Now converted into a luxury hotel, with many antiques, fans and punkhas, terracotta tiled floors, and a mixture of antique and modern furniture add interest to... More

We had the wonderful experience of being upgraded from a basic double room to the superior deluxe suite, No. 202. It was fabulous, we felt like royalty so much space we kept losing each other! There was an entrance hall off which were a tea making room, separate toilet, large sitting room with dining area and then a king sized... More

The charm and elegance of the he Colonial Era is abundant at this comfortable hotel. The lobby is open air and one feels like she has stepped back in time. The room had a small foyer and was quite comfortable. The bathroom has been updated and was well designed; the enormous tub was addictive. Pool side was relaxing even with... More
