I had gone to this hotel with very high expectations given the feedback that I read on different forums and it truly did not disappoint. During my Kerala trip with my mom I Cochin was the last stop. I had requested for twin beds and a room away from the jetty point. The hotel took care of that. Coming to... More

The room was fabulous but next to the ferry which woke me up each morning. The breakfast is served on the terrace and is well cooked. The location is good for eating out in the evening and walking round town. There is a lovely pool.

We spent a night before our backwater Oberoi cruise and one night after. First room was on the first floor with harbor view and the second on the third floor with roof view. We preferred the first one as it was pleasant to see the ship traffic. The nearby ferry could be noisy but it was on strike during our... More

The hotel is right next door to the Government ferry terminal for the vehicle and foot passenger ferry to a nearby island which runs every few minutes. The ferry is old and noisy, but even worse, because of the wind direction on the first day of our stay all the outside areas of the hotel reeked of diesel fumes. Passing... More

This was the first stop on our tour of Kerala. Friends had advised us against this hotel because the sea view was continuously marred by tankers. Indeed this was true but these boats were far enough away to make no difference. However, right next door is the ferry terminal, which is a nuisance when eating outside on one of the... More

This charming hotel has been restored from the remains of a ship building yard. Colonial paraphernalia adorn the interiors. Loved the 'pankhas' or hand-drawn fans in the reception lobby. The Armoury Cafe sit-out is perfect for enjoying the sea breeze and watching harbour life. The History Restaurant features food from all the different communities living in Kochi. The food is... The night we checked in, we had an issue with the lack of hot water in the shower. Complaining at 11 PM did nothing. However, the next day, the hot water was back. Their breakfast seems limited going by the spread but the trick is to ask the staff for whatever you want to eat. They, usually, could provide us... More

This is a sympathetic conversion of an historic building at the heart of Fort Kochi, the old part of Cochin. As such it works very well as a hotel, offering a delightful ambience away from the busyness outside its gates. Staff are very helpful and attentive though the young women in saris at reception and around the hotel could perhaps... More

It's been a while since I've been on Tripadvisor but I decided I had to check back in to leave a review about the Brunton Boatyard. In the heart of atmospheric Fort Kochi and steps from the Kochi Biennale (if that's your bag) as well as the Chinese fishing nets -- Brunton was everything we could have wished for. All... More
