Visited this place more because of its location than for the food and ended up experiencing exactly that. While the restaurant had a pretty descent ambience, the service, the quality and quantity of the food were a huge let down. We had been given a pretty good deal with a gift voucher, and even though we were paying only half... More

Dear Pratheeknp, My sincere apologies for the food not meeting your high standards of expectation. We will strive to make sure the portion size is more generous the next time you visit us.However sizzlers with rice accompaniments and veggies as a base are commonly served in most fine dining restaurants, but I would hazard a guess that they probably outweighed... The hotel was the starting point for a 2 weeks holiday my daughter and I spent in India. Kochi was the right place to start, and the Old Lighthouse Bristow Hotel a very friendly accomodation. We particularly enjoyed the food, and my daughter still speaks with much enthusiasm about the opportunity provided not only to enjoy but also to see... More

I visited old lighthouse Bristow Hotel in April with my mother for 4 days. I have stayed at this hotel before briefly and as its well connected to the temples and my relatives I chose this hotel. What a horrible experience it was!! First they showed me to the Garden Room near the pool. It had a terrible stench coming... More

We had booked a stay at the Old Lighthouse Bristow Hotel for 2 weeks in April. This was my first visit to India, let alone Cochin and I was not disappointed. We arrived very early in the morning but were greeted with a warm welcome by the reception staff and shown to our rooms. We were staying in the garden... More

This hotel is a gem. We stayed at this hotel over a fortnight with a three night gap to tour in the middle. We had read earlier reviews and were quite concerned about what we would find. What we experienced could not have been more different to the negative reviews the hotel has received. What we discovered was a small... More

I loved the location and colonial feel of this hotel. The Sir Robert Bristow suite is large and comfortable with a private balcony overlooking the harbour. Food is also good, but service very slow. Yes, the hotel is a bit quirky and some things were rather worn, but the staff are helpful and friendly. The problems are all down to... More

It was a pleasure returning to the hotel. The pool was a delight to use and was in full working order. It would be useful if there was a better standard of pool-side service, as there didn't appear to be any waiting staff serving guests by the pool.

This hotel is in a good location in Old Cochin, not far from the sights and shops. It’s a colonial building, built to keep out the heat, so it has an old world charm, wooden floors, high ceilings and heavy furniture. The rooms are not sea view, as that would make them very hot. There is an open air restaurant... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Chic luxury heritage boutique hotel in Fort Kochi. This is the latest treasure that has been created with great outdoor dining by the sea, one of the only spas that offers both western and traditional treatments in the area, and an infinity pool with great views of the sea and the English style garden. The indoor lounge is fantastic for a relaxing evening. The lighthouse bears witness to many a ship passing by and the ships that sail by seem to walk into the property. The hotel was the residence of the founder of Cochin port Sir Robert Bristow and has been receiving great reviews from all its guests. The hotel is a true sanctuary to relax and rediscover yourself. ... more   less
