The house is a fine example of Colonial architecture in the heart of Kochi but that is about it. Firstly the booking process was difficult as Coral Bernard does not reply to emails. We were given a lovely big room with fine wooden furniture but at 4000INR a night you would expect something good. The bathroom however had a window with... More

This homestay represents excellent value in the mid-price range. We spent a little more and got a "deluxe" room, which I think just got us more space. I'm sure the other rooms are excellent also. The house has a colonial, antique feel to it, and has been well maintained. Perhaps the best feature of this homestay is the owner/manager Coral.... More

Bernard's bungalow is a beautiful Dutch house, which is meticulously maintained by the Coral, the owner of the house. She is a very friendly host. We stayed in one of the rooms on the ground floor. The room was simple and clean. We were three people, so we asked for an extra bed which was provided to us. In the... More

I stayed with my husband at Cochin's Berhard Bungalow in 2011. He died of cancer in 2013. I went back to Cochin for a friend's wedding this year, 2014 and asked Coral for the same room. She had already booked the same room without my asking. This is a delightful homestay in the heart of Fort Cochin. Coral was very... More

Stayed here on a couple different occasions and enjoyed it tremendously. Coral, the owner, is super friendly and helpful. The location is perfect and the rooms are immaculate and airy. I highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.

We stayed here for a week at the end of February in on of the upstairs rooms (R3000). It's hard to describe the experience of staying in Bernard Bungalow without getting personal because it is a personal experience. When you stay here, you are not staying in a hotel, you are staying in Coral Bernard's house. If this is not... More

We stayed here one night after completing the Rickshaw Run. It was a bit on the pricey side, but its got character, the staff is very warm and friendly and you can't beat the location. Beds were comfortable. Hot water and decent wifi.

We have been staying in Bernards homestay for 3 nights. What a great place! Friendly staff and the lady running the homestay is the best. She will take care of you and gives tips, arranges tickets etc. The rooms are very clean, the beds are good and it's quiet. The homestay has a view of the paradeground and it's a... More

Bernard Bungalow is a beautiful restored colonial house. We booked all 3 rooms on the top floor for a single friend traveling with us and then 2 adults in 1 room and our 2 kids in the room next to us. Lovely dark boards on the floor and the ceiling. A/c and fan, big firm beds with mosquito net (our... More

We loved our stay in the comfortable and homely Bernard Bungalow. Gracious host Coral Bernard and her family were very welcoming and made our stay a memorable one. Our room was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed our breakfasts watching various recreational activities opposite on the parade ground. Coral was very helpful in recommending excellent places to eat locally and... More
