This little piece of paradise is just amazing in the bustle of Fort Kochi. It is so serene from the beautiful breakfasts to sitting on the balcony at night reading a book while incense burns and the lanterns are lit. The rooms are spacious and have everything you would need. You can make tea and coffee and there is a... More

Easily the best accommodation Maxime and I experienced in our month in Kerala this April. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome without any hassle or perfunctory formalities. The architectural style, interior design and lay-out of Secret Garden is a tribute to its owner's taste and great eye in keeping with Keralan tradition. The room we... More

Not sure how to put this wonderful heritage hotel into words.... this place just had something special. Maybe it was the cool retreat from the heat and what was, for us, the somewhat less than noteworthy experience of Cochin. Secret Garden is beautifully designed and run, the attention to detail is amazing, the architectural influence of the owner is apparent... More

I booked this on a review in the Lonely Planet Guide and we weren't disappointed. Walking into this lovely hotel, with a pool surrounded by verandahs and pretty rooms was a treat. An abundance of wood, comfy chairs. The rooms were well prepared and cool with mosquito nets and attention to detail. With no pool restrictions, I asked if I... More

This garden is a iland of calm, birds singing in a small jungle. The rooms of this traditional house are huge and wunderfully painted. Dora wellcomes you personally and helps with whatever you need to know. Every morning you may join the yoga group under the trees. A place where a dream came true.

In an unassuming urban location within easy walking distance from the centre of Kochin, one quickly feels at home in this small hotel. Our pleasant room with large mosquito netted bed overlooked the pool which, though inviting, was unfortunately too warm to be refreshing. The shower room was more like a wet room as the water didn't drain away efficiently... More
