The first few hotels in Leh town of Ladakh came up early in the year 1974, when for the first time Ladakh was thrown open to tourists from all over the world. The opening up of Ladakh for tourists also marked the entry of entrepreneurs in the field of establishment and running of hotels to cater to the ever-growing needs of the tourists. Hotel Dragon in Leh town of Ladakh was the brainchild of one such entrepreneur named Din Mohammad of the Abdu family. The hotel had a humble beginning and today it has become synonymous with world class facilities and exemplary services. Those were the days when the tourist visiting from foreign countries was just a trickle. I stayed here twice during my tour of Ladakh in September, 2012. Charming "boutique" style hotel with many terraces, views, and garden. “Nice Hotel and great value for the money”

We chose the Dragon as base for our time in Leh after havig stayed at the nearby Spic n Span for the first days. The rooms are the same quality, bit cleaner and cheaper. Staff ist very friendly and helpful. We looked at 10 hotels in Leh, and found the Dragon by far the best value for money.
