Our stay experience at Hotel Dragon was lovely. We were lucky to be assigned good rooms-road view & access to the first floor sitting space. The Hotel staff was quite obliging to help wit needs of a fren who was unwell-steam, warm drinking water, etc. The rooms are extremely clean. We were allowed to keep back our luggage, as we... More

Simple and basic rooms. What really makes the difference is the great staff. The manager, Mr. Amar, is also a concierge, taking care of everything you will need, like arranging tours, getting the inner line permits, exchanging currency. The restaurant provides first quality food and the prices are quite fair. The staff there - people like Rohan and Eric -... More

Clean rooms, nice food and a shady lawn for an afternoon beer. Well situated close to town, turn left out the gate for the quick uphill route or right for a slightly longer flatter route. My suggestion to the management would be that the rooms would benefit from a fan for the hot nights. Also a special mention to Eric... More

We were 6 of us and our trip was planned just a week before and that too during the Super peak season of Kalachakra. We stayed here in July 2014 for 4 nights. This was supposed to our base camp from where we kept travelling to other destinations in Ladakh. The hotel is located close to the main market about... More

Stayed here in June 2014 for 4 Nights. The hotel is located close to the main market although a 'trek' up the steep road is needed to reach the market. Mr Majeed of Adventure North (The firm owning this hotel) planned our trip to perfection and took great pains to ensure a pleasant trip for us. Overall the Rooms are... More

Pros: - good comfortable rooms, with attached wall heaters. - good food. - nice and friendly staff. bad: - internet rarely works. - rooms have yellow lighting, makes them pretty depressing. Mixed: - a few dishes have garlic in them. - you get warm water only, not hot (but its available 24x7)

Hotel is well located on old road close to city centre.. Rooms are clean with power back up and a wifi connection, which seldom worked. Staff is courteous and helpful.. Hotel has a luggage room where we were able to leave our luggage while traveling to pangong and numbra valley. Hotel also has a prompt laundry service. The big letdown... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Not many hotels or guest houses existed before Ladakh was put on the international tourist map. The first few hotels in Leh town of Ladakh came up early in the year 1974, when for the first time Ladakh was thrown open to tourists from all over the world. The opening up of Ladakh for tourists also marked the entry of entrepreneurs in the field of establishment and running of hotels to cater to the ever-growing needs of the tourists. Hotel Dragon in Leh town of Ladakh was the brainchild of one such entrepreneur named Din Mohammad of the Abdu family. The hotel had a humble beginning and today it has become synonymous with world class facilities and exemplary services. Those were the days when the tourist visiting from foreign countries was just a trickle. However, the scenario changed dramatically in the following years attracting a huge crowd from all over the world. This necessitated the need for increase in accommodation and expansion in facilities for the comfort of the tourists. ... more   less
