We wondered whether we made the right choice to stay in a guesthouse not on the main Dal lake in Srinagar, but on the adjoining Nain lake, but when we got there we were absolutely thrilled! The guesthouse is beautiful, old kashmiri, every detail is perfect with the furnishings, the rooms, the lawn sweeping down to the edges of Nagin... More

The Dar-Es-Salam located on the Nagin Lake in Srinagar is like a breath of fresh air when compared to the hordes of concrete blocks called hotels which abound in almost every city of India. Be it location, Ambience, Service or Charm, this hotel has it all. 14 guest rooms manned by a total staff of 17, this hotel is the... More

I stayed at Dar-Es-Salam on the last day of my 6-day Kashmir trip (17th Aug 2014) with my wife. The hotel has almost everything going for it - 1. Awesome location on Nigeen Lake with amazing views of the lake. I am told it is the only hotel on Nigeen lake, the rest being houseboats and / or small guest... More

Hotel staff is very cooperative.. Good views around.. Old furniture but we'll maintained.. Bath accessories need replacement.. Showers and towels in bad shape. Averagely worth for price. Nigeen lake is at foot steps.. Staff very friendly.. Lobby are very clean, quite and pleasant surroundings..

Me and my father stayed at this lovely property from 18 th june for a week. We took a small room and were very relaxed. The hotel has a garden and private steps to the dal lake. The shikara would drop you right to the hotel. The staff is excellent . The only draw back we found was the buffet... More

Excellent service in Dar-es-Salam... stayed here for two nights, and had a very pleasant experience. Special mention goes out to the staff. Dar-Es-Salam, isn't right in the centre and slightly distant from the main market and Dal lake, which is a slight relief as appreciated the peace and quiet. The hotel premises and the rooms aren't particularly large, but what... More

We were there for just 1 night! Is the best hotels I've stayed in Srinagar. The rooms are quite big. Free WiFi at Hotel lobby. Hotel staff are helpful & friendly. The garden is beautiful, Nigeen lake is just in front of us. Food there was excellent, we also took Shikara short ride from hotel and overall we had a... More

This hotel has amazing lawn which is well maintained with lush green grasses and comfortable furniture. We were given lake facing room which was spacious and well decorated with wooden furniture and nice wooden ceiling. Nagin lake which is situated just on the bank of the hotel is very serene lake with various shopkeepers selling thier stuff on shikara"s right... More

I stayed at Dar-Es-Salam in July 2014 with family. The hotel is a heritage property with a lovely garden overlooking the Nigeen lake. All the rooms are of the same size so no large family suites. You can ask for an extra mattress if you have a large family. The hotel has a "homely feel" to it and the food... More
