My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night that we spent in Srinagar, on our way back to Mumbai from Gulmarg. After Gulmarg, Srinagar was quite drab anyway. Plus the city itself was recovering from it's second round of floods in less than a year. What would have been a beautiful hotel, was partly under water due... More

This is a double floored boutique hotel - a bungalow built in British times and excellently maintained. Hence there are only a few rooms available for booking. The most attractive thing of staying at this property is that the hotel garden opens up to the Nagin lake. You could simply spend your hours watching the sunrise or sunset over the... More

By the side of Nagin Lake, away from the hustle-bustle of Srinagar, is this small property managed more like a family resort. Very personalized service, good rooms and bathroom, a private lounge on the first floor, a huge garden to just sit and relax, shikara rides right from the hotel. And amazing breakfast. Very good value for money

The Hotel location is good, the staff is very helpful and courteous, food is excellent. Unfortunately due to the floods ground floor was submerged in water and some of the ground floor rooms have been left with smell of fungus, can be unhealthy. We had booked 3 rooms, we had been given 2 GF rooms and one First floor room.... More

This review has been written by our esteemed clients who stayed with us recently. While we appreciate that they have concerns about the water coming into the property and the smell being referred to in their review has been linked to the same we would like to clarify the same for the benefit of the reviewer and our potential clients.... The hotel is an old bungalow (we were told it was made in 1949) with superb old-world charm hospitality. We got the room with the best view of the Nageen Lake. The décor adds to the charm with plenty of wood, copper, art-deco around. But the best part about Dar-Es-Salam is the overall feel and vibe of the place which... More

Very nice property, spacious rooms, old style classical interiors, great location (next to Nigeen lake), Well mannered staff. Overall very good experience. On the negative side, cost of buffet lunch and dinner is little too high for a family (at Rs 600 per person). But you can manage with snacks available.

We visited Srinagar in April 2015 and stayed here for 3 days. This is as good as any other 5- star property in India. The hotel is overlooking Nigeen Lake and has few rooms. Each room are of different size and seems to be some old bungalow converted as hotel. The interiors are amazing , has lot of old artifacts... More

We travelled from London to India for vacations and visited the hotel for a 3 day stay. I being a non-Kashmiri thoroughly enjoyed immersing in the great Kashmiri food and hospitality by the staff. Our rooms were impeccable and the common spaces were very tastefully made and truly comfortable to hang out. Great views of the Nageen lake and very... More

This was our first visit to Srinagar and we could not have chosen a better place to stay than Hotel Dar-Es-Salam. This heavenly place with nature showering it's beauty is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to have a peaceful, romantic stay. Lake Nigeen is beautiful and scenic. Shikara ride from the hotel to anywhere is a brilliant experience.... More
