It's a small property but cherished with many aspects such as, its build next to the legendary Manu temple, located in the heart of old Manali, where you can do a morning promenade to explore the village. family lives next door, hotel staff is very helpful and co -operative, ready to help you anytime. it might be a bit difficult... This is a great place, a little hard to find and not on the main, club house road. (There is a small dirt path that takes you up a hill between Cnaan restaurant and Bee Knees restaurant. Follow it up the hill until you reach a public washing area and toilet, turn left and follow it up and turn left... More

Many aspects of the hotel are appreciative, polite nature of the staff and caring personality, hotel is situated well within a village atmosphere, the chirping sounds of the birds in the early morning, and the scenic beauty of the nature with 3 strings of waterfalls visible in the front mountain. The hotel is just 5 min walk from famous Manu... More

The Himalayan Country House is a wondefurl place to stay in Manali. To start, because it's nested in the old village, overlooking the modern town. Thus you get some countryside environment, and, what's more important, silence. All the staff, and the family running the House, are very nice, welcoming and helpfull. Rooms are ok, clean enough, large enough : perfect... More

We stayed two nights here. Very quiet area, the neighbours are just local village families and many cows.We stayed at the top floor (1200r) and had some nice mountain views (when it wasnt raining). Room was clean enough and very spacious, with an alpine feeling. Bathroom was clean and hot water working. The shared balcony was nice but we didnt... More

Although a bit on the pricey side for old Manali, this hotel is well worth it. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and nicely decorated room and bathroom, plenty of hot water, nice food, great views.

We stayed in the Himalayan Country House and loved it. Although it's a bit of a hike up the hill from Old Manali (bring your torch), this is more than compensated for by the fact that it is actually inside the Old Manali village, and your sleep will be accompanied by the sounds of Yaks, local weddings and village life....
