Gir Birding Lodge is tucked away amidst sprawling Kesar mango orchards that border the famous Sasan Gir Wild life sanctuary, the last refuge if the Asatic Lion, in Gujarat. As you enter the sylvan serene surroundings, the metallic trill of bird songs fill the air. Feathered friends of all sizes shapes and colours flit in and out as the swoop... More

In Gir, do not look further and head to Gir Birding Lodge. Advantage of the place is the location, it shares compound wall with National Park. There is definite chance of spotting animals and birds. With the name, the management has also taken steps that there are lot of birds in the vicinity. The sounds of peacock and other birds... More

Just spend three nights at the place The staff was friendly and helpful as always in India The food was good and plentiful The cottage was functional but very basic. No housekeeping during the stay. No hot water at the washbasin for e.g, shaving. All in all a very mixed experience

I booked the lodge for two days on 24th and 25th Feb'14 for two standard rooms. It is a nice, clean and peaceful place. Though there is no TV and newspaper, it added more peace. The food is very good and home made style, non spicy and non oily with enough variety. The hospitality is good. The boy Rahul is... More

Basic 2 star rooms but spacious, hot showers and tea/coffee making facilities.food very good, staff very polite and helpful. Room fans. Advantage for bird watchers are the balconies and roof terrace that overlook the mango groves. Excellent birding and photography in grounds. While we were there we saw a golden jackal in the grounds.

Adjacent to the gates of the Gir National park this was a good value for money location. The staff and in particular the cooking from the Nepalese chef made this stay for us! Everything was adequate so long as nothing more was expected! The downside was the building works in the grounds and adjacent properties (during much of the night)... More

Good bungalow accommodation right next to the park. Wonderful old tree in the grounds packed full with colourful birds. Do watch out for the charge for drinks with your meals- you are not told until it us check out time.

This place is good value for money. Yes the place is a bit basic but it's in a good location right beside the national park and just a short ride/walk from Sasan. The staff were very friendly and the food of a very good quality. Very quiet place too. i would recommend it, not necessarily rave about it - but... More

The first thing that struck me when I entered GBL was the peace and quiet of this place. Best thing here.. no TV's and newspapers. You are surrounded by nature and you can soak up the ambience. Stayed here for 4 days.Loved it. There are a large number of mango trees planted in the property and the sheer number of... More
