I stood here in July 2009 and had a good experience. Though the rooms are a bit dated the value, location and the staff make up for it. Hotel Volga is tucked away at the foot of Laal Darwaaza but WHAT A GEM! The front desk staff were just SO lovely, especially Anish who was just like my uncle being there, he made me feel very much at home. He was even able to suggest a beauty salon where I could go and have a facial - now... more

Staff were great, arranged pick up from the airport and were very welcoming. 24 hour check in meant we still had a base but didn't need to pay for an extra night. Room was clean, and bathroom had a decent shower and toilet. We were given soap and shampoo. A nice cold litre of water from room service was reasonable... more

Rooms/Price: Rooms are decent, not luxury; the hotel is mentioned in the LonelyPlanet. Nearly all hotels mentioned in the LP increased their prices considerably because of that free LonelyPlanet advertisement - but NOT Hotel Volga. Paid Rs600 for single room in Nov 2008.
