Lovely place to stay, with good staff and spacious and characterful rooms. We would not stay in this part of Goa again - especially not over the holiday season. Go north or south, but the huge numbers on package tours from europe, was not what we came to india to see. Our mistake

I tend to agree with people that come here, and enjoy the peace and quiet of our guest house. Dealing with the bustling tourist season, which is heavy upon us from dec to late feb, can be exhausting, especially on the main strip of road that starts in sinquerim and heads off to calungute. But at least you appreciated us... More

In the midst of Goa's chaotic tourist focal point, Marbella stands out as a reminder of a bygone era where time transcended life itself. Standing as the last in line on a thin sliver of tar leading to nowhere, the guest house is almost purposefully hidden from view even from right in front of your eyes. Not one for the... More

Thanks for your review! It certainly is good for us to be at the end of lane. I really don't think marbella would fit in on the main strip of road. We are different, but not perfect, which adds to the charm of marbella and not like other regular guest houses. This old fashioned portugese villa, with antique ambience is... More

What can I say? Great rooms (especially the spacious penthouse with terrace), most friendly staff, wonderful food and at a good location. Sinquerim is a small town with lots of shops and restaurants, but the guesthouse is away from the hustle and bustle of the town down a quite alley. Great value for money. Highly recommended!

Thankyou for your positive review! Yes the penthouse is very spacious, and can easily accomadate quite a few people especially families with children. Or small groups of friends such as yourselves. I am glad to hear that you find us good value for money, although we are now giving up to 20 % discounts for longer staying guests. More

We went as a group of 2 couples. The place is nice. We stayed in the smaller rooms with an attache balcony in between. The location is close to Fort Aguada and the lighthouse. The place had a wonderful courtyard where once can spend some quality time in the morning. We really enjoyed getting up in the morning and having... More

Hello and many thanks for your review! The bouganvillea rooms with shared attached balcony is ideal for two couples or a couple with 2 kids. we do not have facilites for children.. But they are welcome, as long as they are supervised as we have two dogs and its always safer to have adults present. we are considering fridges in... More

Marbella guesthouse is beautiful, the rooms are lovely and a good size and very clean. The food is superb and we ate here all the time. The location is also good the house is at the end of a street so very peaceful, and you can walk out the back of the house and through the woods and see the... More

Hi, thankyou for your review! We enjoyed you staying with us, and that you think we are in a good location. It is amidst nature and as you say the trip to the lighthouse is just a walk into the woods behind, up the hill round to the lighthouse and to the fort aguada. The views are beautiful at the... I visited this place with family on one of my friend's recommendation. I found the suites really beautiful and location calm and peaceful. Rajasthani suite was beautiful and I preferred to stay there not only because it was lovely but since it has a bathtub and my kids like to have one. The owner of the property is a nice... More

We had high hopes from this accommodation, based on Lonely Planet's entry and they were certainly fulfilled. The guesthouse itself is a gorgeous old Portuguese mansion, with only a few rooms/suites, so you would never feel crowded. You enter up a tiny access road with friendly locals who waves and chat to you. Up the sweeping stairs and you are... More

I took a risk on a recommendation from a friend on this hotel. It turned out well. I needed a short break, booked up and flew to Goa. Apart from a little difficulty finding it for the first time the property is well off from the road, at the end of a track, near the fort aguada Taj. I'm actually... More

Marbella Guest House, located on a leafy, quiet street, is an ideal, great value spot for a stay in Candolim at the southern end of North Goa, close to the Mandovi River and Fort Aguada. (Candolim is a much nicer area to stay in than Calangute or Baga, greener, quieter, with nicer restaurants and shops). (Don't miss Newton's Supermarket for... More
