Gurukripa is a very nice hotel to stay in. Great service, good food if over-priced and good rooms. The Executive Double Occupancy room is large (fits in a large king bed, two tables, a sofa and four chairs plus plenty of leg room) and very tastefully furnished. Good ambience. The Super Deluxe room is very nice too if not as... More

This hotel located at sea face road. Hotel location is not near to devka beach. Compact hotel with all four star hotel ammenities. Very good food quality, room service, included with best breakfast. No big resort ammenities due to less space.

I stayed there during a shoestring-budget jaunt to Daman. Strictly OK rooms, with below-par air-conditioner and TV, and the walls were painted in a garish pink shade. However, you can make do if you are low on budget, and only there for 1-2 days max.

Ive always preferred Daman as my get away destination and when in Daman , Gurukripa is my home. Very well managed place, they have a loyalty card system that can get you further discounts on the already awesome rates. The restaurants are the best in Daman and total value for money

We had been here in Aug 2013. The rooms that we had booked very awesome for the price that we got. Very well equipped rooms. The restaurant had the best food I had in Daman. I am a non veg lover and I wanted to try different type of cooking in every meal, the waiter made sure that he surprised... More

1. The staff is very rude 2. The location is at a place which is very congested and polluted 3. Be ready to wait for atleast 1 hour to get you simple orders delivered to you 4. The management seems least concerned about guests satisfaction 5. The linens are also not clean and were tea stained at many places

Decent enough hotel in central Daman. Don't expect Four Seasons quality, but for 1600 INR all in this is well worth the price. Clean room, comfortable king-size bed, helpful staff, decent air-con. No wifi but 3G seemed to work ok. Excellent restaurant on-site with very good fish meals. Recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Sovereign and Hotel Gurukripa are Twin Gems of Daman, located near seashore of Nani Daman, in the Heart of the Town, having 24 rooms each, three restaurants & two conference halls. Hotel Sovereign is one of the city’s famous and oldest hotels with two restaurants, namely Kasumbo and Pithora. It was started way back in 1945. It has stood test of time and successfully transformed from a small hotel to one of the leading brands in Daman over a period of more than 6 decades. It is the only pure vegetarian hotel in Daman serving authentic cuisines, namely North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Continental and most popular Guajarati Thali in its Kasumbo Restaurant. The other restaurant, Pithora, is a sea facing rooftop terrace restaurant with village ambiance. Pithora Restaurant is popular for its Chaats, fast food and Kathiawadi Thali amongst others. Due to persistent public demand for non vegetarian food, Hotel Gurukripa was started in 1979, with a Multi Cuisine Restaurant Daman Delite, serving authentic local Sea Food along with Indian, Chinese and Continental Cuisines. Subsequently this restaurant has been renovated to give it a galaxy ambiance with twinkling wtars. Hotel Gurukripa & Hotel Sovereign also provide specialised outdoor catering and banquet services. They had the privilege of being official caterers to the former president of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam and Ms. Sonia Gandhi during their visit to Daman, in the first decade of 2000. Hotel Gurukripa & Hotel Sovereign look forward to providing a pleasant staying and dining experience to their esteemed clients. ... more   less
