We have stayed in a few bed and breakfast's through the years and the Tavares Inn is a fantastic B&B as you will not be disappointed. The price is very reasonable and the main bedroom upstairs had a balcony with table and two chairs. Bob and Debbie will treat you to a wonderful breakfast each morning and I promise you... More

My girlfriend and I planned a short, Southwest road trip for the holidays that had us in Alamogordo on New Year's Eve. We normally camp, crash in our car, stay at Motel 6, or find a cheap room on AirBnb to keep the cost of our trips down, but we decided that New Year's Eve was cause to splurge a... More

The Tavares Inn was one of the most memorable places I've ever stayed. The hosts were great, breakfast in the morning was wonderful, room was clean and nice. However, it was the abundance of pets/animals (all located outside) that made this place so awesome. The owners have a small group (flock?) of miniture goats that made our stay. The goats... More

The hosts welcomed us warmly, and made us feel at home. We arrived with some leftovers, and they were happy to give us plates, silverware and use of their kitchen to reheat what we had. Our room was spotless, as was the bathroom. Breakfast was fabulous, with farm fresh eggs [they raise their own free range chickens] cooked to order... More

We had a wonderful 2 night stay here. Bob and Debbie were wonderful hosts. So friendly and accommodating. Beautiful home and a huge good breakfast. The pool looked wonderful even though we never had time to use it. My husband is not really a pet person but the animals were not a problem since they were rarely even seen. The... More

Lovely stay with Debbie and Bob (and Pickle and Chico and the goats and dogs and cats and pea hens and chickens!). Wonderful location and wonderful hosts. Huge and tasty breakfasts, clean, roomy and great amenities. Great array of animals in the huge garden and it's all nestled at the base of the mountains. What's not to like?!

We visited with Bob and Debbie last year and had the best experience we have ever had at a bed and breakfast. In planning our trip for this fall, I realized I had not written a review of our trip last year. The house is a dream to explore. So many beautiful works of art. The house itself is stunning.... This was our second visit. Bob and Debbie are the most wonderful hosts. Room was excellent and very comfortable. Great bath. Breakfast was home cooked and excellent. Your day starts with coffee, huge fruit parfait and juice brought to your door. When you come downstairs for breakfast, Bob cooks your eggs to order, sausage (3 patties), potatoes ( country style... This place has a little of everything. Located about 3 miles from Alamogordo's main drag, this once family home converted to a guest house is quiet and very accommodating. Innkeeper Debbie took care of all my needs and was helpful with area attractions and restaurants. Eclectic art work, indoor pool, billiard table, and an assortment of pet animals will greet... More

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home by the hosts Bob and Debbie. The house is amazing and the rooms are beautifully decorated. Debbie recommended a restaurant for us to go to in Alamogordo for dinner and when we got back later that evening we hung out for a while in the communal area playing... More
