We stayed at Deeproots heritage and not Deeproots retreat. They are both different properties. Heritage is also called as Sohian di Kothi in the village Sohian close to Ludhiana. We stayed there for one night and had a very warm and unforgettable experience. First Its a beautiful huge house. More than a 100 years old, its very well maintained and... More

We were 2 families, group of 8 people who visited this 'hidden gem' last week. Stayed there for 2 nights, one better than the other. Nestled amidst lush green farms, the place is 'far from the madding crowd' of the city (Chandigarh aficionados, it is just proverbial!), yet so very approachable from the Chandigarh airport as well as downtown. Whether... More

I stayed there with my friends, on 15th august 2013 to 16th august 2013. Our expectations are raised by reviews on tripadvisor. But I am sorry to say that, This place is particularly not worth off stay. Although room sizes are good but few basic things were missing, like for calling any staff we need to go downstairs to call... More

I wanted to stay in a non-hotel type place in Chandigarh, and found Deep Roots Retreat after a bit of research. I was driving from Delhi, and was delayed in leaving Delhi, so arrived at around 11pm. Gobind (one of the brothers who own this place) gave me directions on the phone so I was able to find it okay.... More

We were interested in staying at Deeproots as a way to unwind after a few weeks of traveling, and indeed, we were able to do so during the two days and nights we stayed there. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable, available on the premises the first night, after which we had the house almost to ourselves! Except that... More

Deep roots Retreat is a well placed farm house away from the hustle bustle of the city yet, adequately and mangeably close to Chandigarh. The open air, the ambience & the VERY wide and spacious accomodation really puts you back to the glorious times of Punjab. Visitors can really enjoy the fresh food, farming, meeting local village community , panchayats... More

Deep Roots Retreat is a secluded place not far from the city, but deeply inside a village. Mr. Gobind Brar and his wife are the perfect hosts making every bit of the stay a memorable experience to cherish. The kind of enthusiasm they show into what they are doing in Agri-R&D shows the passion they have in it. Deep Roots... More

We wanted to know about India's farming, and Deep Roots gave us the perfect introduction and exposure. We came looking for a small sample, but it felt like a pilgrimage to Mother India herself! Our group of 8 had travelled from South Africa to India for a 3 week vacation - some of us for the first time. We also... More
