I stayed at pearl during a business trip to hyderabad last week. While the booking and check-in process was hassle-free, trouble started the moment I got into the room.

To start off, in a three-star business hotel which boasts of superior service qualities, there was no drinking water in the room, and it took five calls to the 'room service' number to get a flask of water!

Secondly, the hotel brochure and the city tourist guidebook - both of them neatly put into the desk drawers describe the rooms as having 'internet connectivity'. On being enquired, it was told that you can use the telephone jack to plug into your laptop, and use your 'own' internet dial-up account to access the net. So much for internet connectivity!

The staff members are at a loss when it comes to communicating or understanding the queen's language. As if they expect only localites to come and stay with them.

Overall, it was not a very pleasant experience and the service quality... more
