I am a regular traveller to The Gambia and absolutely love the country and the people, however was so disappointed with The Senegambia Beach Hotel. As a lone female traveller you expect some attention from local men but some of the male staff were unbearable. I had a ring stolen from my room and had to ask numerous times for... more

In case you don't want to read the essay below - in a nutshull loved the hotel. It's 2*, so don't expect a 5*. The people & the grounds are just fantastic. The food & drinks also really good. So if you want a fabulous room this probably isn't the place for you! If you care more about everything else...... more

I first stayed here when it had just opened, infact many parts were under construction, so to come back and see the full finished place was great. It has to be said, that the SeneGambia really trains well thier staff,, the service is incredible. The food inside is great to. Rooms, I agree with the other person who wrote, that... more

Had a week at the Senegambia just after Easter (our first visit) and absolutely loved it. The Hotel Senegambia was everything that the reviews said. Sure the rooms are a bit basic and the bathroom towels a bit ropey, but we don't go on holiday to spend all our time in the room looking at the towels. Staff are unfailingly... more

My husband, brother and sister in law and myself have just returned from a week at this hotel. This was our 3rd trip in 6 months although the first visit for my brother and his wife. This was the final week of the season and the hotel was very quiet. if you can remember that you are in Africa you... more

We were first time visitors to Gambia and we were unsure what to expect but we had a great time in a very goo hotel in a great location, but the holiday was special because of the Gambian people. Yes a lot of the rooms are basic and dated but they are clean and adequate. Apart form that it would... more

Quite a nice hotel, gorgeous grounds and birdlife, pools always clean but cold, rooms not very good,, quite poky and very dated, wardrobe and hanging space awful, and no drawers except in your bedside cabinets. If your thinking of taking long dresses, then think again, as the hanging bar is so low down that your clothes are hitting the bottom... more

Travelled to the Senegambia Hotel in Feb 2009 for a week. Rooms were pretty basic and dated. Two pools and on the hotel is beachfront location. We did try the beach a couple of days but we were quite often approached by people selling fruit, juice or waiting to give you a massage. The beach is patrolled but they obviously... more

Just returned from our second visit to the Senegambia Beach Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed it, even though our group ranged from 12 to 72 years old! The location is just great and the people are very friendly. The hotel manager for the beach front, Lamin, is a perfect gent. If you want to see the real Gambia, go to the... more
