I spent almost a week at Pension de la Plage and found it lives up to one´s expectation - I deliberately sought something cheaper than the Polyesian dream destinations as this was a working trip. Still the place is well worth your money, my room was impeccably clean, so was the pool, and the wi-fi was good and quote cheap.... More

We stayed here for several nights before embarking on a cruise from the port of Papeete. We had a room with kitchette area which proved more than adequate for our needs. Everything in French Polyenesia is expensive so this proved to be ideal for us. There is a small shopping mall nearby within walking distance with supermarket. Also opposite this... More

Thank you for the nice and good description and for taking the time to post it on Trip Advisor, it’s certainly appreciated! It was a pleasure and normal to help you for renting a car. Take care and hope to see you again. More

This is a nice simple pension with relatively good price for Tahiti. I would recommend to hire a car as it is difficult to get to with public transport and would be expensive by Taxi. There are a couple of nice roulottes (food vans) just across the pension. The owners are nice and very helpful.

If you are looking for a place to rest and recuperate after the long-haul flight from Europe or the states or before your return flight, then La Pension de la Plage is the place for you. It has a small number of bungalows nestling in a luxuriant, tropical garden all looking out onto a cool and inviting pool. The place... More

Great place, although a little bit far from town. The buses are not that convenient. The pool is nice, the rooms are large, well appointed and clean. The garden is really nice and it is easy to cross the road to go for a swim and snorkel in the lagoon. Nice fruit stalls just next door.

We spent 4 nights at Pension de la Plage. Vincent and Anne-Marie (hosts) had responded to all our pre-arrival e-mails and questions promptly, providing advice to help us plan our stay. My mother arrived a day before us, and, being Easter, Vincent assisted her to hire a car from a local rental agency. The rooms had everything we needed (we... More

My fiance and I booked our stay with Vincent seven months before our trip. After a 14-hour red-eye flight, we arrived at Pension de la Plage exhausted and in desperate need of showers. We were dropped off by a taxi driver at 6am and told the reception desk would open at 8am. After rolling our luggage through the mud (there's... More

Greeted by two barking dogs, who also woke us each morning. Shabby and basic. Uninviting pool and scruffy poolside area. Proprietors pleasant and helpful . Quite good restaurants within easy walking distance. Near beach, but part rocky shore and murky sea.

You need to remember two things then you stay on Tahiti island: there is no tropical-paradise-beach vacation available like we see on many popular websites; there is no 24/7 care about tourist and getting all you want for your money. Tahiti is for living and discovering. Pension De La Plage is a small, around 10 bungalow-like rooms with big windows... More

Tahiti is expensive like Paris is expensive. We were shocked by the cost. At Pension de la Plage you can save because they have a kitchenette which we used a lot. At the bigger hotels, they don't even have coffee makers but at PLP they give you a french press. There is a small grocery next door. And if you... More
