This is a fantastic alternative to high priced resorts. Perfect location, great salt water pool, well equipped kitchen and plenty of room for 5. We loved every minute. More

We really enjoyed out stay and would recommend for anyone wanting a house in Savu Savu. Brad and Therese are great and could not have made things easier for us. The pool and house were great, however beware there are quite a few steps up to the house which if you have shopping or luggage can make it a hike.... More

Our views are based on the experiences of a three month stay. They will differ from shorter stays as we had the pleasure and luxury of living in Fiji / Savusavu for three months rather than being on vacation for a short period. We have visited Fiji before staying at high end resorts and wanted to have a time to... More

My wife and I wanted to travel to Fiji to get married and have our honeymoon all in one trip. My wife researched numerous options on different islands, and we chose the House of Bamboo in Savusavu for two reasons: the location sounded wonderful, and Therese (the owner) was incredibly friendly and helpful, and responded to all of our inquiries... This Bamboo House vacation was unbelievably better than we or anyone else could imagine. The local people / the sunsets / the accomodation / the relaxation showed us what living should be like. Everyone we met was genuinely our friend; the life is so simple - you do not need to take 15 minutes to choose the brand of coffee... More

Had the most magnificent holiday together in this magical location. We couldn't beleive how lucky we were to be staying for a whole 11 nights! From the luxury accommodation with cooling plunge pool and day bed to the fabulous snorkeling right out the front at split rock, and the amazing dinners at Surf n Turf, there is nothing we could... This beautiful property, perched high looking down on Savusavu Bay is well appointed, comfortable and quiet. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. The views, the pool and the self catering house beckon you to stay longer. Although out of town, the taxis are efficient and very reasonably priced. Can't wait to go back there!! More

The "house of bamboo" is a dream come true property at the probably most original location in Fiji. The hosts are extremely lovely, but down to earth and willing to fulfil every wish. Personally we recommend to rent a car, particularly as long as the SavuSavu airstrip is closed. It gives you also the opportunity to discover remote angles on... More

This was our second trip to Fiji. After a week on Taveuni at Maravu Plantation we wanted to see if Fiji was really an option for us as a place to retire. After puddle-jumping from Taveuni to Savusavu Airport six years ago on our way back to Nadi, I simply could not get the mental snapshot of beautiful and tranquil... More

The house of Bamboo is a brilliant place to stay on all levels. The physical environment around Savusavu is beautiful and the views from the house are stunning. The house is beautifully appointed, very comfortable and in a great location. The hosts are lovely people who will do anything to make your stay fantastic. This is truly one of the... More
