I would love to be able to write a glowing review of Daku - it has all the right ingredients. The prices are good, the location is convenient, there is a good combination of accommodation for singles, families and groups and some of the staff are the epitome of Fijian hospitality and laid back friendliness. However, for the first five... More

We can only apologize sincerely. They say in the airline business that you're only really in trouble when three problems arise at once, And, that.s exactly what happened during this particular week in Jan. All three of our management team had to be away with death in the family and other personal issues. Nevertheless, we should have looked after you... More

This was my second stay at Daku and luckily little had changed! I went as part of a large party of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday, and it was perfect. They describe themselves as "vintage Fiji at vintage prices" which says it all. This is not a glossy, 5-star resort. It is comfortable, clean, friendly, personal, laidback. Our rooms... More

There was not a high expectation of this resort, especially for the price. Unfortunately the bad experiences started when we arrived at the airport, having informed the resort twice of our impending arrival to find no-one there for the transfer. 20 minutes later after a phone call we were picked up and taken to the resort. Unfortunately we had to... More

We loved Daku and couldn’t recommend it enough. The resort has beautiful gardens, just across a quiet road from the sea. It is very laidback and offers a fantastic combination of solitude and gregariousness. All the essentials were there: beautiful gardens, beautiful views through the gardens and across the sea to mountains. The bure and bungalows scattered across the resort... More

Our stay at Daku was shorter than planned (due to confusion over the international date line!), but even those few days provided the relaxation we needed in the course of our round-the-world trip. Excellent accommodation in a roomy villa with small private pool, extremely helpful and obliging staff, especially Raj (manager), Kenny, his wife who cooked some delicious dinners -... More

now stayed here twice - lovely quiet comfortable bures, great food and awesome staff. Special thanks to Tusoro - now my friend- thanks for taking me to your village and introducing me to your family...... and Peti - the Daku boatman - who took me to amazing places to snorkel. The snorkelling near there is stunning. Daku is only a... More

My husband and I just returned from 9 days staying at Daku resort and diving with the Jean Michelle Cousteau operation a few minutes drive down the road. We could not have been happier with our vacation. Savusauvu truly is a hidden paradise, and the diving is exceptional, particularly at Namena, about a 40 minute boat ride away. The dive... More

We had the privilege of spending three weeks at Daku Resort... the first was spent unwinding and familiarizing ourselves with the environs, then we plunged into activities organized by the incredibly hospitable and helpful owners and staff. While we were there, they hosted a yoga/fitness retreat, snorkel and scuba packages, and a watercolor workshop. Walking distance from town for variety... More

Daku Resort is a terrific location/venue for a yoga retreat. Quiet, peaceful, relaxing with magnificent views and walks. Staff are friendly and relaxed and the food is wholesome. Daku is not however a "silver service" resort, nor is it a resort overdone with touristy activities; if you are looking for a friendly place to chill that is not over priced,... More

What a lovely experience! It's described as a vintage resort, great value for money and I wouldn't have had it any other way, especially not to swap with one of those glitzy resorts! What made it so unique was the wonderful friendly atmosphere created by the owners JJ and Delia and their dedicated staff who treated us as their family.... More
