We arrived at Daku Resort on January 2nd 2010 after driving from Labasa where we attended our son's wedding. The cool water of the Daku pool was welcome relaxation for 4 hot kiwi travellers. Briefly we visited the markets in town for fresh pineapple and oranges and a day later we shopped for souvenirs. An interesting variety of shops in... more

Get off the usual beaten tourist track and head for Savusavu. Daku Resort is beautifully located on the coral shores of Savusavu Bay and provides value for money accomodation which is comfortable, clean and well priced compared with more expensive neighbouring resorts. I attended a yoga retreat at Daku and was priveleged to participate in the traditonal Fijian opening ceremony... more

Paradise is a place in which existence is positive, harmonious and timeless. This is how we felt while staying at Daku during the Christmas holiday. The folks at Daku made us feel like family from the time they picked us up at the airport until the moment we were dropped off at the airport on our way home. We shared... more

When you live in London, you forget amid the hassle and the traffic that there is true paradise out there somewhere. Vanua Levu is part of that paradise and Daku Resort is the best place to enjoy it. Pretentious it ain't - my shoes and my make-up never came out of the cupboard - but the scenery, the fantastically helpful... more

Daku is the perfect choice for accomodation for the budget concious traveller. Set among beautiful surroundings, this resort is perfectly located, its close to the main town and airport, yet far enough away that it is also peaceful. The staff are absolutly amazing!!! Raj and Kenny are a fantastic team who manage the resort so well, and the other staff,... more

We stayed here for a few nights. It was within walking distance from town. There are a multitude of different types of accommodation and the first one (most basic) was not very comfortable. Bed was lumpy and we could hear people talk through the walls. However, after speaking with the staff they upgraded us to a lovely little house which... more

We were caught in Cyclone Mick and could not depart the day we were scheduled to fly home. We had already journey 30 miles on wild open seas by boat from our former lodging, so we had nowhere to stay. Daku owner JJ was at the airstrip with his guests, and rescued us, giving us reduced rates, comfortable accomodations, and... more

People were beautiful, so friendly and kind. I trusted them always. The resort needs a tidy up and some important improvements on their cleanliness. Overall though we enjoyed the experience and was made always to feel comfortable and welcomed at all times. more

This was our second visit to Daku Resort. This time we stayed in one of the brand new two bedroom villas. The villas were self-contained but you could still enjoy the resort facilities if you did not fancy cooking. Daku has an extensive range of courses available throughout the year such as yoga and painting. We plan a third visit... more

We stayed at Daku resort before our wedding in Savusavu and the kindness and hospitality of our stay, literally brought us to tears. Daku Resort is run by some very special people and all of the 50 people (who booked out the resort with us) had the most amazing time. We always felt looked after and nothing was ever too... more
