I have been to El Gouna six times during the last ten years and love it. Each visit my husband (or daughter) and I have stayed at the Movenpick Hotel and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have always stayed 'B & B' and found eating Downtown or round the mariner to be excellent value. On Fiesta nights or special... more

Great hotel overall, this was our second visit. We agree with other reviewers re the hotel starting to become a bit tired and rooms needing some general refurbishment, which does question its 5* rating. Staff generally all very friendly and helpful, rooms well cleaned, generally plenty of sunbeds - no need for dawn wake-ups to get a sunbed! We stayed... more

Have been going to this hotel for 9 years but sadly this hotel has become very tired and run down suffering from the lack of maintenance and investment so this was my last visit. The rooms are badly in need of major refurbishment, furniture is old, beds creaky and the bathrooms are now very poor standard although they do now... more

Good Stuff - Hotel had good choice in Buffet - unfortunately they closed the main restaurant for refurb work and moved to bar next door - wasnt ideal but OK. Service very good and in Al a Carte Restaurants - best to go B & B as cheaper and food is excellent in DownTown area. Clean sheets and towels every... more

Service Mostly very attentive and friendly. The staff from guest relations to the pool bar and waiters very looking after us well, taking time to chat and help wherever they could. Only downside was the staff at reception - not because they did not try, but because they were permanently understaffed. Though the hotel was relatively empty two people at... more

I spent a week at the Movenpick in May and there were elements of the hotel that I found very disapointing. The rooms are certainly not 5 star more like 3 1/2 star. The furniture and fabrics are very dated in design and colour, lacking any imagination or flair. The bathroom was very ordinary especially the shower whick looked more... more

The Hotel is really great, specially if you go to sector 8 (beside IL Lemon restaurant) where you would find a great sea view and some nice privacy (great for honeymooners) El Gouna overall is a great place to visit but you the sea is not the best because sometimes it is smelly specially in the lake and also the... more

We stayed at the Movenpick Hotel from the 19th May to 2nd June. I am going to try and review this hotel with out my tinted glasses on, due to the fact that my girlfriend got ill 3 days into the holiday and had to be taken into hospital. We were advised this was a bacteria infection caused by the... more

After Staying in Hurghada and Luxor for the first part of our holiday it was great to get away to somewhere peaceful. Hurghada and Luxor were great but not as relaxing. The Movenpic in El gouna was just what we needed to chill out for the final part of our holiday. I cannot fault it one bit. everything was great,... more
