First of all it is really an escape beach... you will be really far from any distraction from the city!the beach is very nice.. the huts are good but a little bit too far from the toilets... the main hut is nice but the atmosphere is unwelcoming, the staff are indifferent and you will not see them a lot! The... More

Stayed here with my family and 5 other families and we all had an amazing time. The place is very safe and welcoming to children of all ages. The owner, who lives there with his family, and all the staff are very welcoming and helpful. There is a fridge to buy snacks throughout the day, or you can bring your... More

camped there with 11 of my friends during the high season of Adha vacation, was a bit afraid of crowdedness, but it was very well organized. staff and the owner were very hospitable.. The cook and serve-your-self experience was very pleasant for the 12 of us. They do sell food that you can use to cook, but you better bring... More

I was cycling from Petra in Jordon to Sharm ElShekh in Egypt with GBI Shine team. during our tour we stayed in Basata camp for one night. I really enjoyed the stay so much, the place is so simple, where you serve yourself and pay while leaving the camp. we enjoyed snorkeling and swimming in the morning and we had... More

Basata is the most beautiful "camp" I have ever been to. We stayed in the beach huts, and they were amazing. Bamboo structures with colorful tapestries and enough space to let the breeze stray in. Activities are limited, but the snorkeling is the best I've ever seen! They have snorkel equipment to rent. The water is incredible, and the reef... More

If you appreciate good people and responsible tourism, this is the place to stay. I stayed in the chalet and had a lovely experience. The food was delicious. The snorkeling was great. If you are looking for a Cancun experience, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an experience with meaning, this is the place... More

The idea of living simply and enjoying the seen was more than enough, it's not even expensive .. get your own equipments ( tent and sleeping bag) and enjoy the ride .. the sea is very clean , and the main hut is amazing .. being this organic and sustainable oriented is inspiring .. Never forget the sunrise and the... More

I used to go to Basata regularly until they increased the prices that it became not worth the value in compared to other camps in the same line. Last time we were there, we camped in our tents and had our meals in Newuiba as its much cheaper and more delicious. Maria (the owner’s wife) rudely told us that we... More

We wanted to get pampered for two nights since we had a rough night in Zalagi Valley and took the chalet for 400 LE. Although the ecolodge presents their huge solar water heaters in front of each chalet sadly it did not perform. So that was a bit of a pain but when I told the owner she seemed indifferent... More

This is one of my favorite places where Sherif and his wife Maria has built a very special relaxing resort. The bamboo huts are nicely decorated and clean. The standard is simple but perfect for a time relaxing along the Red Sea Coast. A common meal served at night give you a special beduin treat!
