If you have to stay at Abu Simbel, this is the only decent option. But if you are wondering if it's worth to overnight at Abu Simbel (and Seti) or do Abu Simbel as a day trip from Aswan, I would definitely go with the latter. For one, the little village is very typical but is not worth the stop... more

Anyone who has read my reviews would know I have only ever given one bad one before. Well where to start The hotel from the outside was stunning as was the location and the view from our room. The pool was stunning as was the view of Lake Nasser from it . The room did not lock properly, nor the door to... more

I read the reviews about this place before booking, so I knew cleanliness was going to be an issue. I have always dreamed of going to Abu Simbel & would have slept in the sand to spend the night there if I had to. I thought this had to be better then the sand....I was wrong! My experience.... Check was... more

The setting for this hotel is beautiful. It's right on Lake Nasser and the pool and most rooms overlook the lake. Although it's a 3 star hotel, the rooms are clean and nice. The only disappointing part is the food. You almost have to eat here and the buffet is ordinary. I would definitely stay here again. more

I stayed at the SetiFirst Abu Simbel hotel from January 16th - January 17th. At check in the hotel's reception manager charged me a US $40 extra person fee - even though my reservation was made for Twin beds. My father and I became violently sick from the food served at lunch and dinner on January 16th (which we were... more

Abu Simbel had been high up on my list of "places to see before I die" for many years and, I'm happy to say, I was not disappointed. Unlike the previous reviewers' experience there were a number of Japanese tourist groups when we were at the Seti I, so the hotel was certainly not empty. Flying in at Abu Simbel... more

The Abu Seti really was the highlight of our recent trip to Egypt. It is by no means the most luxurious hotel I've stayed at, but will be the hotel I will remember the longest. The rooms are set in little blocks of stone bungalows, covered in bougainvillea and other flowers. Whilst they are probably not up to 4* standard,... more

outlook and view on the shores of Lake Nasser excellent. Not much to do but we enjoyed our one night stay. We were able to see the light and sound show down at the temples, which if you don't stay the night miss out on. The planes come in and fly out again in the morning and miss this. People really... more

We stayed at the Seti for one night after fishing down Lake Nasser from Aswan. It's a beautiful place, just very empty at the moment. We only saw 2 other guests while we were there! Like I said, the place is gorgeous and the pool delightful. It's definately low season there now, not many guests, the restaurant was only opened... more

We took the 1100 convoy from Aswan to Abu Simbel and checked into the Seti in the mid afternoon. The rooms are spacious; not the most modern and the bathrooms need a bit of revamping but the beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and we had lots of hot water for showers. The food in the restaurants was... more
