The hotel is located near Abu Simble Temple facing the Nile ( Nasir Lake). The hotel was empty and didn't use anything except the pool where the Hotel Admin. was very scared about using the pool. We felt something wrong in the pool after their worries. There was no restaurant available we had to go to the small local market.... More

Guests need to understand this hotel (like many others) is suffering with the massive decline in tourism in Egypt. So the hotel is neglected, under serviced and lacking in quality. But the staff are resilient and genuinely caring about making your stay pleasant. Especially when compared to any hotel staff from Cairo to Aswan, who simply work for a tip.... More

Nefertari Around 600LE ensuite Nefertari has a nice pool and a stylish view across Lake Nasser. It is the closest hotel to the temples, but still at the end of a long side-road and this combination does make it rather isolated. It is a fairly long trudge (by Abu Simbel standards) to the nearest village shop, which means relying on... More

Stayed one night and it was one night too many. There was something kind of sinister about this place. Definitely creepy and very dirty. A desolate, overpriced sub-standard hotel. Some people may find the faded glory charming -- but I found the atmosphere unnerving. Once we checked into our room, I received this strangely cryptic phone call from the front... More

This was by far the worst hotel we stayed in during our travels in Egypt. It was extremely overpriced. When we checked in, we were told that we had been upgraded to the a suite. If we had a 'suite', I'd hate to see what a basic room looks like! It was cramped and the furnishings might have been passable... More

If we wanted to have that "Overlook Hotel" feeling, that is what we experienced here. We were the only customers in the hotel. Even considering the fears of political unrest in Egypt we had the feeling that it was the price policy of the hotel that kept the customers at bay (other hotels in Abu Simbel were full when we... We stayed one night a few days ago. It was terrible. We paid a ridiculous $US 130 for a room, and got an "upgrade" to a suit. Extremely dated, simple room. Had noisey airconditioning. Dirty bathroom that was stuck in time warp from the 1960's. Tiny towels. A breakfast with a fly in my cordial, expired warm yoghurt, and basicaly... More

After an exhilarating but very tiring morning at Abu Simbel, we were transferred to the Nefertari Hotel for our overnight stay - what a shock - a decrepit, run down, sub standard establishment where both food & service were virtually non existent. We returned to the Abu Simbel coffee shop where we spent three hours, before going to the hotel... More

This 4 stars hotel is enough old and seems an 3 stars, so the price is too high. The breakfast is not so good, the rooms are very spacious and clean, and the position is fantastic...very closed to Abu Simbel temple. I think it's possible to spend less..
