We stayed two nights at Hosteria Ecologica El Faro. This is definitely a unique place to stay in Salinas. While it is away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown, the Malecon is only a short drive away. The unique garden, containing dozens of birds and animals, stretches down to a rocky coastline, accessible through a gate. The room... More

This is not a typical hotel. It is a totally unique experience and if you are an animal lover you will like it. When you stay here, you become friends with Gabriel and the animals as well. Upon arrival, we were impressed with the tropical plants. Then in the morning, Gabriel's friends would visit us to say good morning in... More

My family and I visited El Faro Ecologico in Salinas, Ecuador for 3 days and 2 nights and had a wonderful time thanks to the place which is magical for children by its gardens, decoration and exotic animals such as monkeys, parrots, tucans, turtles, squirrels, peacocks, ducks and many more. The place is a like an enchanted garden and its... More

First I must say what a wonderful time we had in Salinas because of Gabriel. Yes, it is amazing to wake up in Paradise, yes, walking into The El Faro compound is like entering a secret garden. The monkeys are so cute and being able to feed them and the exotic birds is a dream come true. The first day... More

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights in Gabriel's Hosteria Ecologica El Faro. Gabriel wasn't there when we arrived, so he checked up in by phone. The next morning he greeted us early with fresh organic fruit and scrambled eggs. He insisted on taking us on a tour of Salinas--for the whole day. We ran into problems with our... More

Hosteria el Faro is by far the best option in Salinas. The hotel is in a desirable location with a large and beautiful garden full of dense vegetation. It has a refuge for a variety of animal, including monkeys, peacocks, parrots, tucans, guacamayas, and many others! The private beach is spectacular and a wonderful place to enjoy the ocean. The... This Hostel is a unique and fun way to visit Salinas. There truely is no place quite like it. For one thing Gabriel has created an oasis with tall trees and tropical plants that gives the place a really good vibe. Gabriel is incredibly helpful in every way. His sole purpose is to insure that you enjoy your stay. Then... More

Hosteria Ecologica El Faro is a real experience! You will find yourself staying in a very nice B&B that also happens to be a private menagerie owned by Gabriel, the proprietor. Expect to be entertained by monkeys, macaws, peacocks, a Galapagos tortoise and her offspring and several well behaved purebred dogs during your stay. Gabriel is a great host and... More

My husband and I had a great stay at the El faro. Gabriel was quite the host! He showed us around Salinas and was so friendly. We love the grounds at the El Faro, never a dull moment with tiny monkeys, birds, turtles etc. all around. The El faro connected to a beach through the back patio, which was awesome.... More

Gabriel was super helpful and the place was awesome! We didn't expect to be able to actually hang out with the animals, but we were pleasantly surprised. We were the only ones present at the hotel, so Gabriel showed us around Salinas and actually took us to a yacht club and private beach. He made us feel terribly special! Haha.... More
