We didn't stay at the Silberstein hotel, but as the Finch Bay was notoriously overpricing the day tours, we hopefully found Carla at the reception desk. She was of most help to us, explaining all the details of each day tour, sharing her personal preferences and booking them for us. She also helped with the dive center just across the... More

We visited the Galapagos Islands in July 2013 and stayed at the Hotel Silberstein in Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. The rooms were very clean. There is water that has been purified and safe to drink put fresh in your room every day. The pool and grounds are clean, lovely and relaxing. The food in the restaurant is superb.... More

Dear heccom, Thank you very much for your review. I am really surprised about your feedback. In the dates you visited our Hotel Silberstein I was on the Island and present in the hotel from the morning to late in the evening. There was no approach from your side, though I could be identified easily and work always front of... More

This was my first visit to the Galapagos and I got to know Puerto Ayora rather well. Hotel Silberstein is well located in the village and a welcome place to return to at the end of the day. The rooms are extremely well maintained and the staff is extremely conscientious. Our room included breakfast which was something to look forward... More

Exultant hotel, good food. My room on the ground floor was basic but comfortable. No telephone or tv which I didn't mind about. The manager and all the staff where very nice and helpful. Lovely pool but I didn't have time for a swim. I only spent 4 nights there and wished I could have stayed longer. Some nice shops... More

We were only visiting one island, and Puerto Ayora seemed the best choice. We felt very fortunate to find a hotel so near the Darwin Research Center. We're no "spring chickens" and knew the Center grounds were going to be enough walking about for our energy level. A taxi, by the way, can only take you as far as the... More

Great little hotel. The food is outstanding! We had a land-based Galapagos tour, so we stayed here for 5 days. The rooms are clean and the staff is really friendly. But the food was the highlight! Also located right in the center of town, so you can walk up and down the main street in the city really easily. Thanks... More

This wasn't our first stay at the Silberstein; we returned because the hotel is pleasant with a beautiful garden, nice pool and a pretty good restaurant. It's conveniently located--just a short walk to the Darwin Center and the downtown waterfront. But beware booking travel through the hotel's front desk! Our first tip-off should have come when we checked in and... More

We traveled with Princess Cruises on a side excursion to the Galapagos Islands. This was the hotel they booked. What a great place! It is very quaint, reasonably priced, and centrally located in town to walk to the Darwin tortoise sanctuary and the harbor/downtown area. The rooms were clean but this is definately not for people who want fancy accomodations.... More
