We stayed at Semilla Verde in November, 2009. We had great expectations regarding our stay, but reality exceeded what we expected. For what is interesting from a traveller perspective, facilities, being simple in its conception, are extremely comfortable; big bed, nice linen, huge TV in the rooms, spacious bathroom and closet, luminosity, cleanliness, access to books and DVDs as well... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience! Robert and his wife Daysi own and run this guesthouse very well. They live in the lower floor of the house with a totally separate entrance. It is very spacious with a very large living, dining and kitchen area. There are three rooms . We had... more

Semilla Verde clearly has alot of friends since everyone who stays there must leave feeling they've made a new friend of the host, Robert. We did. The man took a keen interest in making us feel welcome and well tended for. A good talker who knows the islands well, Robert had sound advice on everything from restaurants to dive outfits.... more

Our stay at the Semilla Verde Guest House was absolutely fabulous! I could not say a more posiive thing about it! Robert was so helpful in setting up the accomodations and day trip activities prior to our arrival and was incredbily hospitable the entire time of our stay. Robert is a highly trained and knowledgable naturalist, please take the opportunity... more

My fiancee and I went to the Galapagos on our honeymoon and stayed at Semilla Verde on the recommendation of two friends who had used Robert Grimstone as a guide on previous visits to the islands. We were picked up at the airport by Robert and personally taxied back to the guest house, and our education on the islands started... more

Semilla Verde offered us a unique opportunity to relax in the quiet of the cloud forest. After the clock-work efficiency of our dive boat followed by the bustle of the towns, it was a blessing to relax and reflect on our amazing vacation amongst the wild tortoises, birds and plants on the grounds of Semilla Verde. Marvelous! The breakfasts were... more

We wanted a tour that was land based, with day trips to the islands, and booked 6 nights at the Semilla Verde. When we found Semilla Verde on the internet, we could hardly believe our luck. Then followed an email correspondence with Robert which, in actual number of emails exchanged, must be close to a record for him. I must... more

Planning a trip to the Galapagos Islands inevitably leads to a lot of expectation. My husband & I decided early in 2009 to go to the Galapagos Islands for 7 nights in July. We wanted to do a land based tour but were not sure how we could go about it or plan it. I particularly wanted the holiday to... more

Facilities - the room's lovely with a fantastic view of the garden/grounds, latter's worth a couple of hours of exploration as you can spot giant tortoises. we only had half an hour but it was still fun walking around the fruit trees and vegetation. It's also relaxing to chill on the hammock and look out to the surrounding nature -... more

Semilla Verde is a wonderful guest-house, in a beautiful highland setting, with views down to the coast. Within minutes of our arrival, a giant tortoise wandered into the garden and although we were to get much more 'up close and personal' with many of these gentle giants during our stay, that introduction will forever remain a treasured memory. What makes... more
