A group of us girls spent a week in the Galapagos in Santa Cruz and Isabella and our experience was fantastic. Our guides Jimmy Patino and Richard Vokes were fantastic. They helped us with all of our outings and made it a memorable vacation. The rest of the staff members at Red Mangrove were also friendly and welcoming. I would... More

The hotel is built around mangrove trees....spacious, well appointed rooms with a bar/restaurant overlooking the harbor with its own private deck built exclusively for visiting sea lions! Extremely helpful and accommodating staff and a great location! If you are visiting the Galapagos don't miss this experience!

We were very unlucky with our stay at this hotel. We got a great price on booking.com however I would not have been happy paying more than 70/night for this hotel. The room and building are quite nice, the breakfast was good but very small and the price for an extra was $24/plate. Where we were most disappointed was regarding... More

I thought that the property was very lovely, there was a central garden with a water feature, the beds were comfortable and it was a quiet location. These are the reasons I did not give it a 5: It was the only place in Ecuador where the staff did not "bend over backwards" for you. It was the only place... More

This hotel is convienently located to town and the Charles Darwin research station. The resaruent is ocean side with a deck that sits right above the water at high tide. The sea lions enjoy using the lounge chairs. The rooms are clean and adequate. The resaraunt was good. The beech is a 10 minute walk. The hotel arranged a kayaking... More

This small hotel was the perfect place to relax after a long day exploring this amazing island. The hotel is very clean. Each room is different and unique. Our room was completely equiped with a kitchen. It was open with three tiered levels combining sleeping with common areas. Breakfast was served every morning. We had a wonderful stay.

Just left Red Mangrove, Santa Cruz . We spent 2 days on Santa Cruz & 2 days on Isabela. We really enjoyed our stay at Santa Cruz lodge over the Isabela lodge. The staff at Santa Cruz was very helpful and a joy to spend time with. Our guide Jimmy Patino, who by far is the was the best thing... More

I stayed here on the Darwin Footsteps package and thought this place was amazing! A great restaurant with delectable food (mora cheesecake, mmmm), great tour guides, and animals that hang out with you, including sea lions, crabs, finches and iguanas. The staff here made me feel so welcoming and relaxed. I definitely want to go back.

Just returned from a wonderful vacation. Initially a few communication issues however our guide , Jimmy Patino , was very helpful. The tours were interesting and Jimmy was extremely personable and seemed to really enjoy sharing his love of his environment. Our naturalist was ok but did not seem that interested in sharing information other than the "script" . We... More

Our party of six (three adults and three children) stayed at the Red Mangrove and Isabella Lodge in June 2014. We purchased the Darwin Footsteps Package (the six day package). Given the cost of the package ($15,105 for two rooms/ for five nights) we expected an amazing experience. Instead we received a TERRIBLE experience. 1. We paid for rooms described... More
