Our party of six (three adults and three children) stayed at the Red Mangrove and Isabella Lodge in June 2014. We purchased the Darwin Footsteps Package (the six day package). Given the cost of the package ($15,105 for two rooms/ for five nights) we expected an amazing experience. Instead we received a TERRIBLE experience. 1. We paid for rooms described... More

The divers lodge was a 5 minute walk to the main property where meals are served and tours are started. The accomodations at the divers lodge are sparse but the rooms are clean and a nice size. It takes a few minutes for the hot water to come but then the water stayed hot. We felt very safe walking at... More

The divers lodge is a few blocks from the main Red Mangrove lodge and, subsequently, a few blocks from the water, but it's a relatively short walk. It's also right next door to the Red Mangrove dive shop, which is convenient for trying out or buying any gear you need. I went for a day of diving (two dives) at... More

We stayed here and Isabella island. This location was clean, abundance of staff, who were extremely helpful and friendly. perfect location, walked and biked to the main drag for shopping and sightseeing. Buffet food included daily, wasn't necessarily excellent, but definitely great, looked forward to eating seconds at every meal. loved that the deck was over taken by sea lions... More

Out first stop in the Galapagos. Beautiful hotel overlooking the harbour. The deck off the dining room had great lounging and eating space, with lots of sea lions taking over the quieter lounging areas. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Great views over the harbour. Unfortunately the service was poor, and the buffet meals mediocre. Service was so bad... More

I recently booked 2 nights here to finish off a cruise in the Galapagos. I brought my luggage to the hotel, hoping that they could hold it for us, since it was before our scheduled check-in time. Instead, they had the staff promptly clean the room and we were able to unpack a bit early. While we were being walked... More

When we checked in, our toilet was not working & we had no hot water. After complaining 4 times we were moved to a different room the next day. Did I mention that the toilet would not flush? The following day we left for Isabella Island and had a great stay at the Red Mangrove Lodge there. We had hot... More

The staff at this lodge made the stay great. The manager, Elizabeth is excellent. We were charged a fee we were not suppose to pay and she got our money refunded immediately. Rafael and Eddie were great hosts and our naturalist guide, Juan was the best. We enjoyed our stay, the only complaint was that there were no directions for... More

The lodges on Santa Cruz and Isabella are nicely appointed and some of the outings, once the management got a grip and tried to deliver what we were promised, were delightful. The scheduled pre outing briefings never materialised so we missed out on details of animal life etc until almost the end of the trip, the guide spoke inadequate English,... More

Thought this darling lodge was the best accommodation that I experienced on a recent trip to Ecuador and Peru, but then they went way above and beyond the call of duty for me. I managed to leave my Kindle behind in the hotel room and was not able to come back and get it before I had to leave for... More
