This is a simple accomodation, but with warm showers and airco, so it is really a good value. Laura is a perfect host, she just speaks Spanish, but that was no problem for us. She helped us planning our trip and took the time to explain everything. The hammocks in the garden were lovely. The wifi was good for Galapagos... More

It was a very nice stay in Casa de Laura. We loved the hammocks to chill down and just relax in the beautiful garden they have. The rooms were nice and clean and have aircon (really nice because it was really hot). The couple who owns the hostel are very friendly but don't speak any English. There is no breakfast.... More

Located are the end of a short dead end street, the only nighttime sound heard was the early morning rooster which would have been drowned out had I elected to use either the ac or the overhead oscillating fan. Showers were hot, all hammocks are shaded, friendly backpackers all around sharing travel secrets, and friendly owners. The price was $25... More

We stayed twice, 8 nights at the beginning of our holiday on San Cristobal and 3 at the end. (Our son had stayed the previous year and recommended as he knew it was the sort of place we would like.) We were welcomed and despite us having only very basic Spanish Laura did her best to communicate with us and... More

I contacted Laura a few days before I arrived to San Cristobal to make a reservation, which she confirmed. Upon arrival, she tells me she doesn't have a room for me as she is all booked out. So I had to look for another hostal. After the cruise I went back as it actually seemed like a nice place. She... More

I visited the Casa de Laura at the end of July 2014 and stayed there for more than a week. I didn't take a boat cruise so I had time to explore this island and what it has to offer: beautiful beaches, nice scuba-diving locations, relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous sunsets, some good restaurants. At Casa de Laura for 20$ per night... More

What's really special about this hostal is the garden: it's lush and colourful, unfortunately we didn't have hammocks on our patio. The hostel is also conveniently located near the centre and the owners are friendly. Wifi does not work very well, but that's what we knew beforehand. The room itself was rather bare and not really cosy, with tiled floor,... More

When you enter the hotel you can tell immediately that someone loves (not likes, loves) to garden. The grounds are amazing, with hammocks for your leisure. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Ms. Laura is all business, but that's okay if you expect it. The 3 days I was there, there seemed to be a problem... More

For 40$, we had a spacious room with matrimonial bed, airco, and a small bathroom with warm water shower. The rooms got cleaned every day and Laura and her husband were friendly. The setting is really nice and calm. No noise from the street to disturb the sleeping. Nice plae also to meet fellow backpackers and you can fill your... More
