The hotel is very basic. No frills. I would classify this as a business hotel - simply meets your needs, but makes no attempt to exceed them. The Internet is terrible - slow and periodic disruptions throughout the day and night.

Stayed for three nights on business. Room facing back was large and the ventilation outside noisy (they are turned off at 2300) OK clean, bed on the hard side. As previous reviewers mention breakfast "heaters" do not provide enough heat to keep the food warm which the staff was aware of; they just suggested I should scope my beans from... More

This classy hotel has a great cafe and restaurant, which serve a mixture of Timor Leste and Portuguese cuisine. A recent change of policy prohibiting smoking inside makes both places very enjoyable! The rooms have also recently been renovated, making them even more comfortable. The staff is very kind but not all are equally fluent in Portuguese or English. So... More

Lets start with the upsides. Its a safe, airconditioned, comfy bed, pay tv and free breakfast buffet hotel. Thats about it. First impression was the musky smell of cigars in the air, front reception staff were extremely rude and arrogant. Bathroom smelt like sewage, hot water is lacking, room service come into your room without knocking, terrible ambiance, pool is... More

We had a 3 night stay, said to be the Hilton of Dili. Checkin was a dream, room on the second floor, no lift. The 40kg porter/doorman carried our bags up to the room, they were half his weight. The room was clean and well presented. The safe didn't work and we had to have someone come and fix it.... More

We only had lunch here but after that experience, there is no way we would stay here. Had grilled barramundi which was obviously frozen and badly cooked. Tried to get service at the front counter but little interest in helping - too many people standing around talking.

From the moment i stepped into the foyer, i knew this was going to end in tears. Cigarette stink all throughout, even ashtrays on the tables at breakfast!!! Asked for wifi code to be told it was only in the foyer and $2 per hour - i don' think so. So i asked where their business centre was to be... More

Hotel Timor might once have been, if not grand, at least reasonable. It certainly isn't now. The rooms lack hot water - this is a common complaint I'm told - functioning lighting, and the pay-for Internet wasn't working when I was there either. The plumbing made loud noises all night and the heavy wardrobe door fell off it rails onto... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. A rather tired hotel, my bedroom, bathroom and the downstairs lobby, bar and restaurant were all well worn. Having said this, it does changes are underway, the upstairs corridors have newly plastered ceilings and lighting, and some of the rooms are closed off, presumable undergoing renovation. My room was large, equipped with a large bed,... More

Each Time you go to Dili, something has changed and improved. In the square around the hotel, a new Xmas tree is going up. There are now three options of mobile companies since Indonesian and Vietnamese companies provide services. Roads are better, there is. Movie theatre, new mall and food court. Also some new hotels. Then why does Hotel Timor... More
