I stayed here on my first visit to Dili, because it was where the rotary club of Dili met. Now a little dated, with no lifts, but only two floors to climb stairs. The restaurant fare was quite reasonable. The room decor was wooden, and the bathroom a little small. At the time, there were still regular power outages. Now with... More

I spent two nights at the Hotel Timor. To be fair remember all the trials that the new country of East Timor has been through it is unreasonable to expect 5 star luxury. If you want a clean safe place to stay while in town then this place is fine. There are more modern hotels springing up around Dili so... More

Hotel Timor just keeps getting better. I recently spent 6 days there and I couldn't have been happier. The service is always excellent and it is still the default meeting place for all the movers and shakers in Dili. They have a lovely pool, cafe and restaurant. The rooms are spacious and clean with excellent air conditioning which is really... More

Clean and well located. Very good standard for Dili but missing focus on details and options. The swimming pool could be a fantastic place to relax, but is in the corner of a noisy street, full of chlorine and the water is too hot it seems it hasn't been changed in months; and the bar is closed. Restaurante not well... More

Stayed twice on business and cannot compare with other hotels. The rooms are spacious and reasonably clean, however room maintenance is poor. Always a problem with something broken like the aircon, light plug or door lock, and sometimes there was hot water. You just have to be patient and realise that this is a new country findings its feet. The... More

The town of Dili has been overtaken by several new hotels. the old charm of Hotel Timor still beckons but younger competitors are much better. The hotel has had some renovations and looks cleaner but it is let down by its poor service levels and lack of improvement in infrastructure. Its cosmetic improvements make it look better but its not really... More

The hotel is very basic. No frills. I would classify this as a business hotel - simply meets your needs, but makes no attempt to exceed them. The Internet is terrible - slow and periodic disruptions throughout the day and night.

Stayed for three nights on business. Room facing back was large and the ventilation outside noisy (they are turned off at 2300) OK clean, bed on the hard side. As previous reviewers mention breakfast "heaters" do not provide enough heat to keep the food warm which the staff was aware of; they just suggested I should scope my beans from... More

This classy hotel has a great cafe and restaurant, which serve a mixture of Timor Leste and Portuguese cuisine. A recent change of policy prohibiting smoking inside makes both places very enjoyable! The rooms have also recently been renovated, making them even more comfortable. The staff is very kind but not all are equally fluent in Portuguese or English. So... More

Lets start with the upsides. Its a safe, airconditioned, comfy bed, pay tv and free breakfast buffet hotel. Thats about it. First impression was the musky smell of cigars in the air, front reception staff were extremely rude and arrogant. Bathroom smelt like sewage, hot water is lacking, room service come into your room without knocking, terrible ambiance, pool is... More
