Ugly building. Lacking character. Okay food. Room alright, but not always cleaned. Lovely views. Expensive. Had to ask for more shampoo etc. Not all staff happy to help, nice restarant staff. No particular charm to the place. Seemed less 5star than the 3 and 4 star hotels in the area. Good location. more

Having had a very busy year, we were looking for somewhere to relax and chill out. The Ambasador, with its very attentive & helpful staff, and its supreme location, fitted the bill perfectly. The rooms are adequate, very clean, air conditioned and, as ours was on the sea front, with a great view of the bay and the town-overall, great... more

Stayed 4 nights, end of August, 2009 in a one bedroom apartment 7th floor, sea view, corner room with the large balcony running all around the appartment. Was alone but for two days had 2 (daytime only) guests from another hotel as to spend time together. So for the lunch and dinner we were a party of 3, various ages.... more

Ugly building of hotel Ambassador is one of the tallest in Opatija. And like it is screaming: no class! This is by no standards 5* hotel. Rooms are not comfortable, food is just average, service just OK. more

I went to this hotel for a conference and left after one night, moving the Mozart. I didn't sleep all night. The air conditioning was so loud I could not sleep (making clicking noises louder than the volume of normal conversation). There was a continual noise of water flowing due to problems with the toilet. The service was the worst... more

I stayed at the Ambassador for a conference in June. Its a big place and lacks the charm of the older hotels on the main street however even if it is a bit of a blot on the landscape it is a comfortable hotel with a lovely indoor pool and jacuzzi just in case it rains, however the private seafront... more

I have just returned from a week at the Hotel Ambasador, Opatija. The hotel itself is fine and comfortable - as a single traveller I had a large twin room with a side sea view (supplement paid) which is something I have rarely had in Europe but the beds were like bricks. Even though the room had air conditioning, the... more

I have just had two weeks holiday in the Hotel Ambasador in Opatija. The Hotel rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and very well turned out. The problem was that the Outdoor Pool was more or less none functional because it had a tent over it. It was dirty and horrible to swim in. Due to the tent contraption... more

they turned off the air conditioning in the entire hotel and loud beach parties make it impossible to have the door open and get any sleep. more

A wonderful Hotel, patronised by affluent Europeans but all the staff spoke English and were top class. Such a great place we stayed an extra night, cancelling another reservation. The pool is clean and not overcrowded, but why anyone would go on it when the wonderful sea is available I don't know. £2 gets you a sun lounger on a... more
