Other people have commented on the value of this hotel, but at €125 in total for one night I cannot agree. The halls and room had new carpet, which is nice, but should it be the same hard wearing carpet in your room? At least that was clean and new. The curtains have been there since the fall of Tito... We stayed here as a family for the second time in July this year. We were not disappointed. The hotel is clean and fresh. The location is beautiful, with fabulous sunsets and it adds to the holiday experience being on an island and needing to catch the hotel boat to visit Rovinj and the mainland. During our last stay we... More

We were staying there for the weekend with breakfast and dinner included. The rooms are small but cosy, the food is good for my taste, there's a lot to choose from and the drinks are included in the meal which is a big plus. The location is excellent for a walk to the city centre in the evening. The pool... More

We stayed in the hotel Istra 14 days ago, booked thru booking.com. We travel only for few days, to have a relaxed weekend by the sea. The hotel is old but clean. We had a room with balcony on top floor with a nice view to the open sea. Breakfast choice is very poor, the tables are not clean, the... More

Rooms, reception, pool, everything. On pictures seemed more better. The hotel is near centre but in a quite area. The stuff was not so helpful. In the room was no safe, no mini bar, ergo no cold drinks in 30°. Parking is terrible, the hotel has just a few parking place, the others has to on the street, you must... More

The hotel is terrible. Really. Just do go there. First- there's no parking. You can park in the street- and it's expansive. Second- the staff- they are just not nice, rude and very not welcoming! Bathroom- small, basic, broken toilet. Rooms- Very basic room, small and old tv (from 1992 or so), no air condition (and it's hot!!!!!), no fridge... More

I spent one unforgettable week in Hotel Istra. The management is with full of attentions for guests and very much polite. The staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel offers a familiar atmosphere. Location is excellent, the hotel is situated directly on the seaside along the Lungomare promenade, close to the centre of Opatija but a little away from the... More

Nice people, good service and hotell on the water. Try to get the room at ground floor they have terraces 10 meter over the water, they are spaceous and private. Rooms are old in style and worn down. The hotel lies very central but not in the center of Opatija. You reach the walk path that goes many miles along... More

This hotel was the highlight of our Croatia trip just because of the view. Ask for a room on the seaside, as it's just so worth it. We had a little balcony opening up overlooking the sea and it was just perfect. This was also probably one of the most reasonable night's we had cost wise for accommodation. The hotel... More
