We stayed in The Kvarner hotel for a wedding in July 2014 for 5 nights. We stayed in the Villa Amalia annex buildings which were lovely. Giant luxury rooms with deluxe comfortable beds. The Pool areas and Spa were excellent and well maintained. We loved the private secluded beach area. It was all very 'regal'..! I would recommend this hotel... More

This hotel was quite a surprise. It is lovely on the inside. There are big rooms, high ceilings, good food and best of all a magnificent outdoor eating area to start or end the day. It is on the coast and while sitting there you see beautiful water, outdoor pool etc. The only problem is that the entrance is hidden... More

We stayed in 5 hotels in Croatia and Loved them all except this one. The location is absolutely awesome, the food mediocre and the rooms just okay. But you could not ask for a prettier place, just did not extend to dining or room enjoyment. Small tip: if you use the included free Wi-Fi and cannot connect- use Google as... More

We recently spent 10 days at this hotel which is in the most wonderful location in Opatija. We opted for half board ( something new for us) and we couldn't find fault with the variety and quality of the food. The hotel hosted a Viennese Ball while we were there and a conference and we were not inconvenienced by either... More

This beautifully renovated hotel has not lost its old traditional grandeur where the noblesse of the last century spent their winter days. Right on the beach with an indoor and outdoor pool and modern wellness facilities it is completely up to date and offers a certain grandeur, good service, spacious rooms and parking facilities. We'll certainly stay there again.

By far the best positioned hotel in Opatija, we stayed here for 10 days in a sea view room in Amalia. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the surroundings were breathtaking and the rooms beautifully renovated and very spacious. Really can't find fault - we're always really careful where we stay on holiday as we firmly believe... More

We ate here one night and had the worst waitress in the world. She may have got the message with the one Kunar tip. She had certainly not been trained in the menu or products available. Everything you asked her she said ‘but of course’ in an aggressive manner. Couldn’t open a bottle of wine either, broke of the cork... More

This beautiful old villa hotel has just been beautifully renovated. We had a first floor superior seaview room with a balcony overlooking the pool, the sea and the large terrace where very good entertainment was held every night. This finished at 11pm and the room was very quiet after that. The location was excellent and the staff and service very... More

The hotel may be old but it's rooms with sea-view were still a highlight. Once the 5 star hotel for royalty, it now offers good value for the traveller seeking an insight into how the opulent holidayed. Good breakfast, on-site parking, wifi, and good sized rooms. The facilities aren't modern but the age of the place only adds to its... More
