OK, what can I say about the Miami Hotel......it was overall a pleasant stay. It's a very homey place, so different from the big casinos and a nice change of pace. The location is great, across from the Sands (soon to be closed) parking garage and just a block or two off the Boardwalk at mid-way. But, and it's a BIG but......there are a lot of problems with the place. The rooms are like closets, tiny! In the room I stayed in, luckily had an indoor bathroom, but the shower was just a waterproof cabinet with a pipe. The sink was outside of the bathroom, in the main room with the beds. Our door to the room didn't lock, so we spent the whole night with a chair propped up against the door. (I felt safe though, because you can't come upstairs without being escorted, the elevator is very old and no guests are allowed to operate it). The bathroom had no real door, it was just an accordian door. Outside was the red flashing VACANCY sign, blinking on and off, but we had curtains to block it... more
