Recently stayed in palomino. Spent the first two nights somewhere else and afte a quick excursion to cabo de la vela and punta gallinas stayed at this lovely place. The host, Lucian's is such a lovely, vibrant woman. Caring and hospitable, this place makes you feel at home. Clean, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Will definitely return!

We stayed for two nights in this hostel. Af first we were really enthusiastic, nice double room, friendly staff, and the option to store our luggage while doing the ciudad perdida trip. We booked ahead for one extra night after the trekking. However when we returned they gave away all double rooms! We were tired after four days in the... More

Upon our arrival we stayed for a combination on and off for 7 days at Aluna. Its well run, friendly. Your breakfast is not included but the price of food is reasonable and good. They also have dorms to accommodate back packers and travellers. You meet people from numerous countries and enjoy good conversation. They also have a kitchen where... More

We stayed in Aluna hostel for several nights and if I would Come back in santa marta I would definately stay here again. Nice atmosphere, excellent and very friendly staff! Kitchen is very basic, but ok for a very simple meal. It's not a party hostel, esp suitable for couples. You can leave your Bags at The hostel when you... More

Aluna is a cute little place owned by two Irish brothers, with some locals working at the front desk as well as at the cute lovely cafe' at the ground floor (breakfast not included but good). Rooms are basic, although they have small nice touches, but they are clean. The rooms on the second floor are better, wider and with... More

We ended up there after moving from a terrible hotel down the road. It is rather nice and welcoming The room we were first given hadn't been cleaned but we were quickly moved to another one so it was OK. Not sure what they would have done if there hadn't been another room available. Overall the place is OK for... More

We had planned on staying only one night but ended up here for three days. Large rooms, clean and quiet. We did hear people packaging up one morning but it was more their enthusiasm vs the rooms. Would definitely be back.

Left a terrible hotel yesterday to come to this hostel and wow, what an upgrade for half the price of the hotel. Staff was great spoke English and Spanish and I'm sure a few others. Little caffe next door has some great food and juice for anyone not interested in trying out the street meat and the rooms have fans... More
