I think we stayed 5 nights in the end using it as our base while we discovered the wider area (Lost City, Punta Gallianas, Tayrona ...). Patrick and his staff were very welcomining, friendly, helpful and always happy to offer advise. We had a private room which was very comfortable, the only problem is as we stayed in early January... We stayed here for one night before and one night after we did the Lost City trek. The hostel is a really well designed space (I think one of the owners is an architect), our room was really comfortable and the staff were really friendly. The breakfast at the cafe was great too. They let us leave our big bags... More

This place is such a nice place, helpful and kind staff, close to a lot of things and safe. Loved the cafe and the fresh fruit juices. I stayed in the dorm and it was plenty of space and nicely furnished. I am sure that the private rooms are just as nice, if not nicer.

My girlfriends and I stayed here 2 nights. Patrick and the staff were kind, helpful and so accommodating, The location is great, a short walk to the beach and square with some great night life. They stored our bags while we visited Costeno, arranged our transport to and from as well as our shuttle to Cartagena. Breakfast was fabulous and... More

Simply a perfect hostel. Comfortable rooms. Spacious dorm. Good and affordable breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff. Close to the old town square. Ideal jumping off point for everything around Santa Marta. Well layed-out building that looks good as well. Fast WiFi (most of the time…). Good info about whatever you need. Quiet. Reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?

We stayed at Aluna for over a week using it as a jumping off point for Parque Tayrona and the Sierra Nevada. Our room was comfortable, quiet and clean. But what made our stay really special was the great advice provided by Patrick and Jaime and their real interest in wanting us to make the most of our time in... More

Aluna is special. Patrick, the Irish ex-pat has a heart of gold and local insight - he provides welcoming well run and lovely space a few blocks from Parque de los Novios in the heart of Santa Marta. Excellent value. Service is tops with English Speaking helpful staff - Jaime and Patrick - that do more than check in the... More
