Aluna casa y cafe is one of the best places I stayed at while traveling Colombia, the people that work there are less like a workforce and more like a family or at least that's the vibe you get. Patrick (the owner) is a great guy and full of local knowledge and does everything possible to ensure that you enjoy... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in this hostel, both before and after our trek to la Ciudad Perdida. While I don't think that Santa Marta offers very much as a town (it's really just a jumping off piont for jungle treks or a visit to Tayrona Park), if you are going to stay here, I would recommend Aluna... I stayed here for six nights with my partner in late June. If you are going to stay here then I would recommend getting a room with air conditioning as I would compare sleeping in the room with only a ceiling fan to sleeping in a sauna. Otherwise this was a good hostel, the staff were friendly enough and we... More

Great place to stay in Santa Marta as a base for the Lost City Trek. The rooms were very clean, the staff were friendly & very helpful and the food was delicious. The location was also conveniently located for access to the main part of town with lots of great little bars and restaurants.

From the moment we checked in Patrick made us feel very welcome. The hostel has some really nice private rooms as well as an ok dorm. They also have a nice chill out/lounge area upstairs, a great place for a beer! The book exchange was extensive and the food from the cafe was also really nice. Would definitely recommend this... Aluna...what a fantastic hostel! As stated in the title, we couldn't leave the place. Everything seems so well put together. The rooms themselves are so clean and modern but tastefully designed - more hotel standard. The wifi was excellent as was the air conditioning. The hostel is ideally located and only a couple of minutes from the food and bar... More

We initially booked 2 nights in Aluna after hearing some great reviews but decided to extend our stay as we loved the place so much. The rooms were spotless and well air-conditioned. The facilities (wifi, TV Room, Café etc.) were above standard compared to any other hostel we stayed in. I couldn’t speak highly enough of Patrick (owner) and the... More

Aluna is situated at perfect location in Santa Marta, next to most of the important spots you need (cafes, markets, beach, etc). Owner Patrick and his staff provided a comfy feeling (as well as the very clean and nice rooms) and helpful info on Santa Marta and its surroundings.

I spent about 3-4 nights at this hostel and I highly recommend it. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and patient as I tried to ask questions in Spanish. I stayed in the dorm room which was one of the most spacious dorm rooms I've been in. The shower is great and the bathrooms and shared shower were clean.The... More

I've been travelling for 9 months now and this is without doubt one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. I'm not really sure it should be called a hostel. It's actually more like a midrange hotel in Greece/Spain! Rooms are clean modern and spacious. Air-conditioning and fans are a blessing. The staff are informative and helpful without being intrusive.... More
